Ricardo Dos Santos Reportedly Shot in Brazil
Horrid news out of Brazil. Let’s hope he recovers.

Brazilian pro surfer Ricardo dos Santos is in critical condition after suffering three gunshot wounds. Details are still trickling in at this point, but initial reports suggest that he was attacked near the beach outside his home after confronting a group of men openly using drugs near children. The men left following the altercation, but one of them turned a gun on dos Santos, shooting him three times in the abdomen. Dos Santos was rushed to a hospital where he has undergone surgery, and is reported to be in critical condition.
This (translated) message was posted on Ricardo’s official Facebook page this morning:
“The violence Ricardo suffered this morning was cowardly and absurd. He boarded a helicopter and was taken to a hospital in San Jose. We ask for all those who follow our Ricardo to send positive vibes and prayers, that with much love and pride he’ll recover soon and be back surfing perfect waves around the planet.”

Oh man, that’s crazy. So sad and unnecessary. People like this are deadset the scum of the earth. I hope he pulls through and makes a full recovery. I hope they caught the asshole who pulled the trigger.
He lost his battle. So incredibly sad. RIP, Ricardo.
