The new Volcom range looks sick. I’m stoked to say we will also be selling Volcom by the end of 2015. We are doing our 2015/16 orders now. grin

Well, that’s downright rad, right there. thumbsup

Although perhaps not so great on the savings (read: spendings) account. I don’t think I can get away with anymore outerwear purchases for a lifetime!

Love this! Hahah… Style as far as riding, I feel like men just ride cleaner and harder (dare I say it)….
As far as technical airs and combos on rails etc, generally I love watching a girl more for obvious reasons (froth factor x 10d0d0d0d0) BUT
men’s centre of gravity I find has them riding much more centred…
My view probably stems from watching skateboarders in the park most of my life… women shred though!

As far as the “Fashion” side, a chick that is steezed out I am just like OMG WHO IS THAT! But I like a girl to be in Lady G Ninja mode, girly colours and stuff doesn’t do it for me so much… Torah is a huge babe though..

Magnetic buttons are the only way to go, just like I can ONLY wear mitts, I dislocate my fingers so frequently!

And when it comes to hoodies V outwear.. spinning, riding kickers or doing spins// combos on rails and shizz, I feel so restricted in a jacket no matter how comfortable.. Hence my love for a hoodie! A super tall massive hooded hoodie!

I have seen your equipment closet (it’s an actual room!). I agree with you. LOL

Well, we seem to have quite literally, completely opposing opinions on both riding and clothing style. I feel like the black, black, black, black, dark, dark camo, black, dark, black thing is getting really over played these days. I love a bit of loud and proud coloring and I love when my friends rock some color or some kind of sweet print - makes it so easy to find them, amongst a crowd.

I will say though, I won’t ride trees with someone I can’t see. If you’re in black, I can’t see you for shit if you’re stuck in a tree well and that could mean bad things.

My 2 women’s jackets are waaaay to short.. So I have a men’s grenade jacket that’s like rainbow tie dye and a volcom jacket…  in saying that I rarely wear a jacket.. Unless its raining or really windy..  I have washed my tall hoodies in nikwax and they are fine.. Only time they have ever gotten wet is after riding in falling snow all day then sitting inside the bar near the heater so the snow melts… But the side isn’t really wet just a little cold.. ( keep in mind I’ve only ridden in australia. And I work in a coolroom and freezer all day… (3°c and -18°c so I’m used to the cold..). And overheat in a jacket quite quickly.. )

And I have the bw hoodie in large.. I’m 166cms (5’5) and a size 10-12.. Its about half way between my knees and hip.. And I looove it!! *all my tall hoodies are large.. As I like them bigger and longer!

Different riding in Australia to say, places where they experience much larger and frequent snowfalls and you tend to do a lot more tree riding as well. Two potential problems with riding in a hoody - 1: it aint gonna keep you dry and warm if you’re riding through and falling in powder (no matter how used to the cold you are - dry cold in a coldroom and wet cold at the snow are 2 completely different climates) and 2: you’re probs gonna get it torn and ruined from riding in trees for a whole season!

Shortjackets = go fuck yourself

Getting a deal on things you drool over = awesome
Finding that one certain piece that you cant seem to find ANYWHERE = awesome
balaclavas and neck tubes = awesome
Jess Kimura = Awesome fuck all yall who think girls dont have center of gravity
Girly shit = awesome
Black shit = awesome
Both all the time every time = not as awesome
Guessing your size online shopping and it actually fitting = RAD!
Gortex and real breath-ability = AMAZING its worth the money
Hoodies in spring = allowed, including hotdogs, beer, sunglasses, bucket hats, and all over wetness
Compression socks = major win, never going back to any other thang
Flowers on your pants = everyone loves them, even if you think you dont, you do thats a reality, get over it
Overly girly goggles = the worst (purely my opinion)
Also Cilla layers > Hoodies…. no one wants a soggy ass covered in wet sweater.

also on a more serious note, Lu has a point with the riding a bigger mountain = serious business with your gear choices/ where you’re choosing to ride might affect your jacket choice for the day/ wearing something to stand out might actually help you or save your life/ the effectiveness of your gear could improve your day and help people find you/ you will still look steeze as fuck if you pull off that move it doesn’t matter what you’re wearing/ sometimes you just have to go get the worst looking one piece suit you can find and wear it.

No 5-10k on pow days

Yeh when I get to go overseas ill take my jacket(s) with me.. But rode around 40 days last season only wore a jacket for about 3 days.. Tree runs included…

I know its a different kind of cold.. But I also live on the coast and I’m used to the damp cold…

Haven’t had a problem in a hoodie yet.. (even on tree runs.. )  but again only in Australia.. Cant comment on other places..

I’ve been covered in snow.. (to the point my bw hoodie looks light grey. And my rainbow one almost white.. And still never felt cold or got wet…  maybe its just me??( and my waterproofed hoodies?) Haha. smile

It’s just you.

You wouldn’t be having a good time in 80km/hr wind on a lift without a jacket.
Nor working your ass off riding steep and deep getting your sweat on in non-breathable gear.
Getting your goggle fog on.

But you would be pulling bacon out of a ziplock bag that you stashed from FreshTracks breakfast.

Yeah it’s different when I was in Canada. The wind just goes straight through hoodies and non windbreaker gear.

In Canada I needed a facemask for everyday. Prior to Canada I never wore one in my life. That’s how much different the cold is overseas.
