Don’t listen to TJ, he’s a tough guy.  tongue
Definitely bring thermals, and a mighty warm jacket and good waterproof boots (with grip) for walking around town at night. (It’s very funny watching first timers wear skate shoes/ runners around the village wink)

Have fun, we leave tomorrow!!!! wooooohoooo!

Ps. I am NOT going to tell everyone the total weight of my luggage, it’s ridiculous!  grin

What time is your flight LMB? Xx

Tonight 23.55 CX out of PER via HK then Sapporo.  Be in town tomorrow evening.

LOL….don’t assume the dudes in skate shoes are first timers.  Mine wear skate shoes and one of them has done 3 seasons there!  Once again ..... IDIOTS.  I’m very definitely a practical waterproof and warm boot kinda girl.

LMB did you head out today? I did, but came in early!! Looks like not much fluffy stuff til 31st!

I’m really curious about the crowds over there during Xmas/NY holidays. Do you need to line up for a really long time (10 minutes and up) for the lifts/gondolas?

Longest I waited today was about 4 mins for the gondola!

Are the slopes packed?

How about off the mountain, is it hard to get rooms? Do the restaurants have long wait times?

Not packed, yet. I heard everything is booked out for Jan, but that was just a dude on the lift. Dinner - some places you may need to book, but we usually just go where we can walk in. 2 people, no probs.

We had some tech stuff to occupy us this morning, and getting The Spaniard sorted with ski pants, hire boots etc.  but we got out this afternoon and evening.

#2 son worked with The Spaniard at the base of the family run (first timer).
PB and I got our eye in.
Certainly no pristine pow pow, but it’s soft enough - we’d be calling it the day of the season if we were in Aus.

Dropping The Spaniard in a 3 hr private at 9am (Ace Family Ticket Office) then we’ve got 3 hours to go where we wish, do what we want, before meeting him back near The Vale at noon.

Yesterday we all took turns teaching but predominantly #2 and #3 son.

Today he is booked with Kip from HME.

I’ve used NBS and NAC in the past, the guys from HME are ex-NBS and very qualified (know them personally).
But there’s also a new one GOSNOW (Gondola Snowsports), A mate who instructs at Perisher is working there this season.  I can recommend him also (assuming snowboard not ski).

The 3 hr private every day until they are charging down the slopes is the BEST investment.  It’s instruction, it’s rent-a-friend, it’s time you can just GO!  shaka
