Symphony, Harmony, or Crystal on Saturday?
None of the above.
Peak chair, son. I wouldn’t mind checking out VD trees if we get enough snow.
Ok I’ll follow you boss
EDIT: As long as you don’t leave me in the trees ><
Deal.
Symphony can be a disaster if the snow is pretty deep. The top part is fun (a great cornice drop right near the top!), but it flattens out towards the bottom…
I’m not a big fan of Symphony to be honest. Too flat, as Lu mentioned. Although there is some great terrain out and about there (Flute Bowl etc).
Anyone sticking around for this showcase king of the rail on Saturday night? If it’s been on before is it worth me going?
Yeah, I don’t really like Symphony when it’s too deep (I guess that’s what the Fish is for haha) but I haven’t done Flute bowl yet =(
^ symphony is okay if you know where to go through especially if the creek’s frozen. You got rollers to go through, you really need to now where you gotta go tho’... A little early in the season for it tho’... especially with the lack of snow.
How about 7th heaven? That’s a little more mellow… but still pow pow pow especially on skiier’s left. =) Anyways, let us know where you’re at I’m always up for a jam!
Going to go out tomorrow and hopefully if it’s snowing like crazy I’ll bring out the aviator… (I’ve been dying to use it.) Another nice spot is the glacier in up near showcase.
Slightly off topic, but very Whistler-relevant:
Underground Tuning are the bomb-diddily-bomb. Got a discount on my board repair and tune up, plus he also offered me a great discount on one of the jackets from their own line, “I FOUND”.
Highly recommend! :-D
Yes!! I love iFound.. they make the best beanies etc etc. If you have a chance, check out their facemasks. It’s what I use and apparently made from patented material that the French olyimpic racing team uses.

BLASPHEMY!!!
Symphony was the chair I worked on when I was a Lifty back in the day.
Believe me, if you get to know the area, it becomes a resort in itself. So many lines!! So many cornices!!
And if you want speed then Piccolo face, Flute, the steeps that face towards flute to name a few. And on a pow day they groom one thin line down adagio. Bomb down it and boost off the rollers into pow, and then back on the groomers to pick up speed and repeat the process 4 or 5 times. So much fun.
I like Symphony… is what I’m trying to say It opens tomorrow. I’m a bit excited.

That sounds fun, Andy! You’ll have to show this young grasshopper your ways I’m looking forward to learning a lot more about the mountain myself!

Oh, Flute doesn’t count!
I’m not saying Symphony isn’t fun to ride; you just can’t compare it to the terrain on offer at Peak. I find it very hard to choose anywhere else to ride on a powder day. I seriously get shivers down my spine from excitement when waiting to go up Peak on a powder day.
Looks like it’s not gonna be a pow day tomorrow. I guess symphony will be better for fresh pow?

YESSSS ANDY!!!
I was about to say the same thing! I obviously worked it as well as you know. its by far my FAVOURITE part of whis blackcomb. yes you need to know the spots to keep your speed. but people dont venture out there as much so I’ve had 2pm fresh lines!
It helps if you know it like the back of your hand
Nothing beats hiking flute on your lunch break. AMIRIGHT?!
i will definitely be heading out there tomorrow. YIEW!
See you crazy kids in the morning!
Another vote for Symphony! Piccolo face, flute, cornices, glissando and staccato, so much fun!
Snow was nice and light! I mainly lapped harmony whilst hoping symphony would open.
All along harmony ridge dropping into symphony side was awesome!
