Michelle and I are still looking as well.
Most landlords are looking for one-year leases which is making life a bit difficult. We are going to Europe for four months in the summer, so we don’t want to take a full year lease.
If you guys have a spare room in a house which needs renting for the winter, please let me know.
I’ve never had such trouble finding a place in Whistler. What’s going on this year?
Thankfully we have a house in Vancouver otherwise I would be joining the homeless in Whistler club very soon.
One of us! One of us!
Haha. Yes, yes! Please let all of us know! I’m happy to give you first dibs of a shared house, Andy. I’m still holding out for a 1 bedroom. Plus we have a dog which must be considered by anyone offering us a room.
Cheers bro
Earlier today Finney told me he finally got a room to stay for the season. In Whistler Cay. Stoked for him.
How’s your hunt going, Andy?
As it turns out, we might be basing ourselves in West Vancouver this winter. We will be up at Whistler a bunch though. Michelle will likely teach Club part-time, so we will be up there every week.
Oh wicked!
We move into our place in Tamarisk on Friday.
I can lend you guys a corner of my loungeroom for the season if need be mate

Not good man. I’m trying to find a place for myself and Ty & Ems (I think u know them right?)
Failing that a place for just myself.
IF ANYONE NEEDS TO FILL A BED (or 3) IN WHISTLER, HIT ME UP! I’m still searching… starting to get worried
yo yo. Jez I heard the news from Alysha/Michelle, on the up side you’ll see more of me in Van
I know of a 3 bedroom 2 1/2 bath new condo in Squamish for $1850 - its brand newish in the elements development if anyone is interested. i know its a stretch but desperate times.
Also Alysha and I will be driving up almost every weekend as well - getting pumped for the season yiew!
It was more so the job situation that killed it for us. We were kind of banking on Michelle getting the supervisor job (I might be biased but she really did deserve it). She doesn’t want to work ski school full-time and I don’t blame her after all those years of loyal service. It was either supervisor in Whistler, or start her career as a personal trainer in Vancouver. So we’re staying in Vancouver and we’ll be coming up to Whistler every week, riding Sunday/Monday (most likely) and any powder days I drive up for haha. I’ll also be hitting up Cypress a bunch as it’s only 15 minutes from our house in West Van. The good news is we’ll be able to save a lot more money here, which will help our summer Europe trip. Next season we will be in Whistler for sure, and we’ll take a one-year lease.
We actually had a place in Function Junction, which wasn’t ideal but could definitely work. It was an office space next to Bounce, really roomy with bathroom (he was putting in a shower for us). The issues are the kitchen doesn’t have a stovetop (we were going to use a small portable one) and there is no laundry. Also unfurnished. Either way, we were going to make it work.
Yeah Andy, I know Ty. Would the above place interest you? It’s technically a 3 bedroom place, certainly comfortable for 3 of you. Let me speak to the landlord of the above place and I’ll let you know if he can make it available to you. I’m not sure if you want to furnish a place though?
If it’s in function junction, it’s right next to the re-use it centre lol. Furnishing the place could be easy.
How much was he asking Jez?
Haha, not quite next to Re-use-it but close enough! I think the landlord has a dining table and chairs etc. but you’ll need a bed and couch. We actually did some window shopping in Function and also at Ikea in Vancouver. It wasn’t expensive at all to deck the place out with what we needed.
The owner is a family friend, so I’ll have to ask them re: price and availability.
Please keep in mind: no laundry, no stove (there’s a fridge, sink, microwave etc.)
Let me get back to you.
Thanks man, I’m actually very interested now.
I figure I can get an electric fry pan instead of a stove top. The lack of washer and dryer could be a problem, I should be able to find a second hand one (maybe). But how will I get it home lol. Either way, I’m keen to find out more.
I’ve already sent the email. Will let you know what they say.
On the plus side, it’s really big and spacious with a lot of storage space (it could actually be converted into an office AND spacious two-bedroom apartment. Electric stove is easy… that’s what we were going to do.
You’re right next to Whistler Brewery and Bounce, and Pure Bread is just across the road.
Cheers Jez.
I was just looking at the bus timetables. Seems like there aren’t any buses from Function to the Village until the afternoon. How were u planning on getting to the mountain?
That’s a good question. Are you sure that’s correct? Is that the winter schedule? Function Junction always had buses to and from the village. Actually, I think the main bus depot is at Function Junction.
I’ll check
*edit
They don’t have any timetable past November yet. So the peak season might be different. I’ll cross that bridge later.
