Hey there I’m from Australia and am looking for somewhere to get my GoPro gear from? I’m sick of paying ridiculous prices for it! Thanks
EDIT: Boardworld is now stocking a range of GoPro cameras and GoPro accessories. BW Admin.
ok, well the cheapest place is and always will be online. I’m not sure of the best websites though.
I do know that this forum has a store attached and while I can’t see any go pro things on there, there was a recent thread where the admin mentioned that they can special order things, so I’d contact him he might be able to sort you out, he’s Jez with the Username: “rider26” (without quotes) you can see the thread here if you want, (the 4th post): boardworld special order
otherwise a good option for mounts, would be to shell out on a go pro tripod mount, and then make mounts out of parts from hardware stores and use the standard tripod screw to attach and remove the gopro.
http://www.sportscamera.com.au is a great place to get all the official gopro accessories as well as a bunch of accessories they have designed and tested themselves.
(Hope its ok to put that link, rider, seeing as you don’t have any of that stuff in the BW store (yet!) Just trying to help the person out!
http://www.dx.com/ this website is by far one of the cheapest ive seen. I have bought mounts and a case from here and its great quality. They even have Aus direct so you can receive your goods super fast!
gopro prices are expensive because of the low markup for retailers - it’s about 13% on wholesale.
if it must be gopro branded buy second hand.
make your own mounts as suggested above.
gopro have a unique mounting system to try and force customers to use gopro hardware only.
(other brands not only use generic mounts(¼’’ thread - standard camera mount)but include generous mounting options at more affordable prices and allow retailers more room to discount.)
i can get gopro gear; though the discount i offer isn’t much and you may need to pay postage.
-it’s not worth my effort involved to sell the gopro brand - bw store may have the same attitude.
have you considered buying another brand of action camera? pm me if interested
by far the best(and cheapest)option for mounting is to buy a pack of these;
and…
i found the most useful gopro mount is the display mount
with duct tape and cable ties and you’ll find nothing is impossible!
I’ve used http://www.camgear.com.au a few times for my GoPro gear, they were nice and fast, but there is definitely no shortage of people selling gopro gear, even this site sells it I just noticed.
