Hotham 2014

@tobi.  Started off bluebird today, not icy except in a few small patches.  Cover is pretty much shot anywhere off piste, but they have done a good job of keeping the runs that are open well covered.  Summit, Big D, Heavenly, Road Runner and Village are open.  Most of Heavenly is open but there are some bare patches and rocks here and there.  There’s supposed to be a bit of rain tomorrow but maybe snow from Tues to Thurs.  Will have to wait and see how that pans out.

Pic from today.  Very slow and soft today.  Overcast morning then some rain late afternoon, although not a great amount.  Forecast seems to be for 10-20cm of snow Tues-Fri.

Thanks mud!

Keep the pics & reports up.

I doubt I’m going to make it up this weekend. However it’s been a shocker the last 10 days between work & uni so I may decide at the last minute that I will. If not I think I’ll be spending a fair amount of time on the surf ski this weekend.

Will be interested to see if they do get any snow.

Had a bit of fun riding with Wildman and his buddy Nick this arvo.  Those guys have some super skills and ride flat out.  Here’s a few seconds of fun.

pic for Tobi.

Dropped below freezing last night for the first time in days, so was a bit icy off the groomers this morning.  We had snow showers on and off all day and there was some really good riding to be had.  Hopefully the snow will continue tonight.

Weather/conditions update: we left this morning but will return Sunday arvo.  After a few days of snow showers, today was bluebird up top with little wind.  The nights have turned colder and it’s pretty icy in the morning, however the sun does soften it up pretty quickly.  If you’re out riding, you’ll be on Heavenly, Village loop, Summit or Roadrunner only.

Thinking of driving up, staying in Hooterville tonight then riding tomorrow.
