Hurley Pro - Trestles 2014

The most ripple wave on the planet. As dubbed by most.

Trestles is the place of progression and high performance surfing for as long as its been breaking. Just ask the likes of free surfing freak Dane Reynolds and Taj Burrow and Julian WIlson who were last years winner and runner up. Those guys tear the place apart and will be sure contenders again this year along the Gabe Medina who’s looking hot to take the world title this year!

Stop number 8 of the ASP WCT and its sure to be dynamite! The long playful right hander will sure favour all surfers. Airs, layback hacks and big wrapping carves will be the flavour of this event.

Day 1/Round 1 highlights

Another lay day…apparently some good swell on the way though.

In the meantime, what do you guys think of ASP changing its name to the “World Surf League”? It’s an interesting one…looks to be a lot of unhappy people regarding the name change. It seems a bit weird to call it a league if you ask me…pretty lame name in my opinion, but I’m not too fussed.

Im not too sure about this new WSL… I think it sounds kinda lame and bit old skool. IMO if it aint broken dont fix it.

Round 3 ,4 and 5 highlights..

JJF lighting it UP!!!

Congrats to Jordy Smith for taking out the Hurely Pro!! What a win! Props must also go to JJF for his rubber man like surfing.

Also shout outs to Steph Gilmore for taking out the Swatch Womens Pro, Sally Fitzgibbons for runner up.

Another event done and dusted. The world title has come down to Medina and Slater, with the possibility of Parko in there too. However both Slater and Parko more so have a lot of work to do catch Medina.

See you in France for the European leg of the ASP (aherm WSL) WCT. 

Big ups to Jordy for the win. I have to admit I was backing Kelly to snatch it but John John was just too good. Really good contest once again…hope Kelly catches up to Gabriel and we get a grandstand finish in the title race!
