Has anybody used, or know of any good tracking apps?
Kinda like RunKeeper, or Strava for Running, Cycling… only for boarding? Something that’ll track runs, vertical meters, speed etc. But a bit more accurate than the proxy cards, as they’ll only read what lifts you use and when.
I found AlpineReplay, which sounds alright and says it’ll work for any mountain. Haven’t had a chance to try it yet, but it sounds pretty good. Plus one of the devs is an aussie, so hopefully our resorts aren’t forgotten about.
AlpineReplay
These guys posted on the forums about their app a little while ago: https://www.boardworld.com.au/forums/viewthread/14947/
Also, check out http://www.reconinstruments.com/products/snow2/
I tested one of their first generation goggles a few years back. The technology was quite impressive.
Alpine replay works pretty well, just don’t always trust it’s speed (says I got 94.2 km/h and my mate only got 89 and he beat me down the mountain lol.)
That first one looks like a game? cant see their actual link, its blocked at work.
As for the goggles, they are what made me think of the app funny enough. I’d be keen to try a pair out before buying a pair though, as with most new ideas like that, they need a few years to iron out the bugs.
Might download a few that are on the store, and post some reviews next week after my next trip.
EDIT:
Speed isnt a biggy, more run tracking, time, distance. But thanks, ill give it a go.
Here is a track from our day at Revelstoke:

(It doesn’t do tree runs too well)
And the staff day at Sun Peaks:
