Lucky you LMB! Billy is always good fun to hang out with and I still have fond memories of a couple of big nights with her and the crew in Hakuba.

Yeah school hols works when you’ve got kids at school 
I try and get back in March for a girls trip, snow is usually a bit less reliable, but LOVE the walk ins for dinner and straight onto the lifts 
. Great thing about Niseko is there is always someone to ride with, whether you’re playing in the park, cruising the groomers or fully kitted for some off piste action.

You definitely should get to Niseko and ride the Gates though!!!!! They’re all kinds of awesome, and you’d love it!!!!! Along with Kutchan, Otaru, and Sapporo!!!!! (I’m yet to suss Asahikawa, but I like the look of that place too)

Yeah I totally agree I reckon we’d get the most out of a Japan trip. Haha I too enjoy getting on the chuhi and sake when I’m over there it just doesn’t take many until my “Kampais” get a bit slurred!
Hah nah I’d agree that it is probably pretty well founded and don’t blame you. Main issue is the pricier flights if it wasn’t for work I’d be joining you in early Feb!

Yes it’s Kanpai.
Dunno about the funeral thing…I thought Kampai was just a pronunciation fault of Westerners.
Yep you’re both right I can’t even blame a big can of chuhi strong! it’s been too long between Japan trips, I used to get it right…. 
There’s quite a few more words you just pick up during your travels. I’m sure your most used words differ from person to person i.e Billy probably uses Biru (beer) and Kanpai (cheers) a lot!
To be honest you could get around Japan purely with English and the universal hand gestures but I think it’s polite to make an effort.
