I’ve just posted up a trip report of my recent first trip to New Zealand. So snuggle up to warm sheep and have a read when you get a chance!
drc13’s New Zealand 2014 Trip Report
MAN I can’t frickin’ wait.. it’s been dumping like a MOFO!!!!!!! w00t w00t!
I can feel that soft soft pow pow pow and me floating through it…. ooooh yeah…
Yeah.. sorry folks I saw the remarks snow report and I just jizzed in my pants.
Like a Boss?????
Like a BOSS.
I don’t even want to work that extra day anymore.
hahaha yeah that was my plan “still hungover and didnt weigh properly” just wondering if anyone actually had some real tips. all my mates say just roll with the board bags and youll be fine.
if its to heavy im pretty sure it can go through over sized luggage or something?Well the problem is that you’ve got a wheelie locker, which weights 7kg.
I had one and sold it it was very hard to get anything good in there… Using a douchebag now and it weights 3kg. BIG difference. But yeah.. just put everything in the board bag, but be careful, you can fit more than you think. Bring minimal and wear the heavy stuff. (ie if you’re bringing a jumper, put that in the bag and wear your snowboard jacket, they’re usually heavier.
Also bring your boots with you on board, just tie the laces together and carry it down.. that’s what I’m going to do I’m due to go the QT this Wed morning. If anyone sees some guy carrying purple Nike DK boots with him that’s me. Come and say hi I won’t bite I’ll even buy you coffee. LOL.
haha yes already realized that! rookie error but i reckon i can make this work.
hows the douchebags go? i was looking at one in a shop a few weeks ago and they look awesome.
the boots on the carry on is a great idea. might just zip tie them on the outside considering i dont have laces to tie them haha.
also big +1 on the snow. the next few weeks couldnt go fast enough!
Good mates of mine went up with these guys the day before and did heliboarding.
Scary shit

Awesome… Fits everything and can expand to fit more. Never had any trouble with the boots carrying on with me so yeah.. maybe use a spare lace to tie them together at the carry hole at the back of it?
Heading to Wanaka on Monday and it’s looking like we’ll run into some sweet conditions!! Will be riding at Cardies mainly if anyone is there.
I am going to be one of those peoples who asks a question that has probably already been asked..
But just quietly freaking out right now.
So I have been invited to go to The Invincible Hut in two weeks!
Flights etc means I am in Queenstown for the day on Thursday 11th Sept.
Is anyone else around then?
I will ski (yes ski!) at a resort then so looking to see where other people are. Otherwise will decided on the Wednesday what looks good weather wise and head up on the bus myself!
I’m not there with you but TC is my favourite for riding if you can get out that far. Otherwise Concrete Peaks is better for free skiing and I find Remarkables more a park rat mountain.
By all means, if one is looking at getting a dump that day or less winds, I’d go there
Yeah - am cool to go anywhere. BUT was kinda hoping to tag alone with someone LOL!
I still might be able to find someone to take me somewhere through my other connections
Diaries Downunder — Episode Three
Meet Scotty James. At the Vancouver Olympics Scotty was the world’s youngest Olympian. In Sochi, he competed in both Slopestyle and Halfpipe and destroyed both with impeccable style. A truly great Aussie battler with a smile that he wears 24 hours a day, we got Scotty over from his hometown of Melbourne to Queenstown to tick a couple of things off his NZ bucket list. Scotty is still only 20 years of age and is renowned for his competition success and triple corks but he sure knows to navigate his way through some kiwi pow! Check out how we not only got through Scotty’s list, which included World heritage site Milford Sound but also scored some world class pow in Cardrona’s Front Country.
In this episode of Diaries Downunder Scotty is joined by Nick Brown, Connor Harding and Nick Hyne in a week of snowboarding and activities that is quite the aesthetic overload for the eyeballs. Enjoy.
