“Its one of those waves where you can either get the barrel of your life or the wipeout of your life” says local MIchel Bourez. I think he summed that one up pretty well!
Thats right folks strap in for the Billabong Pro Tahiti at the infamous Teahupoo, where boards will be broken, skin will be lost and some of the biggest tubes will be ridden this year.
The top current 5 WCT surfers will all be hustling hard for a win here. Gabriel Medina, Parko, MF, Taj and heavy hitting Tahitian local MIchel Bourez all fighting for the top dog prize. With Slater and De Souza chomping at the bit. Though don’t count out the goofy footers either! Matt Wilko has been showing some fine form, along with the young and talented Santa Cruz local, Nat Young.
Get ya blow up toys ready, jump in the channel and get a front row seat for this iconic event! Yew!
Event kicks off Aug 15.
My favourite event of the tour… PUMPED!
Psyched!!
Hedgy got the wildcard!! Stoked for that guy!
Bring on friday!! Yeeww!
1st day of competition is a lay day due to lack of swell… However event forecasters are calling a huge swell in 2 days time!! Could we see another code red?!!?!?!

Round 1 is done and round 2 is partly completed. Amazing waves yesterday.
Wildcard/fan favourite Nathan Hedge took the first perfect 10 of the event:
I hope these conditions stick around…
Mixed results for my local boys. Wilko went down heavily but Ace Buchan is through to the third round with a heat-winning performance.
Other Aussies that have advanced to round 3 include Parko (via round 2), Taj, Fanning, Kai Otton, Owen Wright and Dion Atkinson. Slater, Bourez and Medina are also all through to round 3.
Round 2 was finished off today, with round 3 set to begin when the waves crank up a bit more (apparently big conditions are coming tomorrow).
More Aussies are through to the third round — Josh Kerr, Bede Durbidge and Mitch Crews all taking out their round two heats.
Highlights:
Can’t wait for tomorrow!
KS calling it the best he’s surfed it!!
One of the best days of surfing the WCT has seen for a long time!!
Round 3 highlights
WOW!!! What an amazing event! Firstly a massive congrats to Gabriel Medina for taking out the event!!
They’re calling it one of the best in ASP history. Rightfully so as well! Kelly, John John, Gabe and Owen Wright all dominated. The amount of 10 and 9 point rides that went down from all the surfers was unbelievable!
Owen Wright took out the Andy IronsMost Committed award
The semi final between KS and JJF was one of the best in history, JJF and Slater both posted a combind total of 19.77 as Kelly had a 10 point ride he moved into the finals.
Theres just to many good video’s to post however ill post the final day highlight reel when the ASP boys throw it up.. For now you can check out all the video’s from all the heats here
Hold on for Trestles folks. The worlds most rippable wave is coming up next! Yeeww!
That semi with Kelly and John John was absolutely unbelievable…within the first 10 seconds we had a perfect 10 and a 9.90! Gutted about Kelly in the final, he had that chance for a definite 10 and bombed it. Really messed him up with that mistake on priority. Ended up coming damn close though.
Medina in a really good position to take the title. If he can stay consistent from here it’s all his. I can see Kelly being his main competition for the rest of the tour. Can’t wait to see how it all unfolds.
