now we just need chelsea to lose as well!
I hate chelsea…
they don’t exactly make it a difficult thing to do…
Imagine if burnley actually beat them. haha
The complete and utter disdain I have towards Ed Woodward and the Glazers right now is too intense to express on these forums.
Can we sign some players please? Ashley Young playing in a back 4…yeah, nah. What a joke.
I was delighted to see Leicester get a point against Everton though. 102 points in the Championship last year and their billionaire owner wants them qualifying for Europe within 5 years, and seems adamant that he’s willing to spend (Glazers take note). I can see them staying up.
Hope Southampton run riot tonight. Probably wishful thinking though.

yeah that bird knew what to do! haha

Definitely wishful thinking…although southampton played well and had enough chances. Mignolet was superb but we had the class to get us the win. Would like to thank Southampton for selling us Lovren in particular because that guy looks to be a beast!
With us bringing in Moreno then hopefully Glen Johnson will be sent to the bench and Manquillo looked alright today, too. Hopefully that is our defense shored up very nicely!

Saints were the better side in the second half. Nathaniel Clyne was probably man of the match for mine if not for a Liverpool win. Reds were defensively terrible and against a better side would have let in at least 2 or 3, in attack they were decent, Stirling looks to have improved immensely judging by pre-season and this first game. If they can sign Falcao or Cavani they’re looking very good up front.
carn the Chels!!

I don’t think defensively terrible is fair, Southampton were just good. We looked much better at the back yesterday than we looked most of last season (glen johnson excepted). Lovren is a boss!
Sterling was already razzling last season and will only keep improving.
Hey Walker,
How was that game against MK Dons last night?? hahah. I actually saw it because it was broadcast on one of the free channels over here in sweden. When I flicked to it, UTD were already down 1-0 so I started watching and it just got better and better!
Spose getting Di Maria has to be some kind of consolations, though!
What the difference between a teabag and ManU?
A teabag stays in the cup longer!
meanwhile in our local league… AFL style…. our home team is in the final tomorrow… or is it?
Buchan admits fielding ineligible player in Omeo and District finals

UPDATE: BUCHAN is unlikely to learn until late tonight if it will be permitted to take the field in tomorrow’s Omeo and District league grand final.
The league’s six club delegates are due to meet at 6pm to decide the fate of the Cavemen, who last night admitted to playing an ineligible player during finals.
Buchan last night told league officials Matthew Bedggood had been listed on the club’s team sheet for its Round 14 clash with Swan Reach on July 26, despite being in Bali at the time.
The confession followed a league probe into whether Bedggood had played the required four home-and-away games to qualify for finals.
Omeo and District league officials had handed the matter over to AFL Vic Country, but the governing body this morning ruled the league had to make the final call as the four-game qualifying rule is an Omeo and District league bylaw.
“We spoke to AFL Vic Country this morning and they said there was no precedent for this as far as they’re aware,” Omeo and District league general manager Rod Twining said.
“They say the whole situation is a domestic situation, because what you have is the Omeo league’s four-game qualifying rule for finals.
“Most leagues have a three-game rule, others have two games or even one game.
“The player (Bedggood) is not an ineligible player under AFL Vic Country rules — he just hasn’t qualified under our bylaws.
“So it’s a delegates decision for the Omeo league to sort out.”
Bedggood played three home-and-away games for the Cavemen, but a post on Facebook revealed he was holidaying in Bali when he was listed on the team sheet on July 26.
Twining said Omeo and District league president Ray Gallagher was contacting club delegates today to collect their opinions on whether the grand final should go ahead.
But Gallagher’s efforts were being hampered by two uncontactable delegates.
“We’ve got one bloke who’s out shearing and he’s not going to be finished until 3pm and I’ve got another one up in the bush who won’t be back until late, so it’s not likely to be decided until that meeting tonight,” Twining said.
“And that meeting could go forever, because they’ve all got their own vested interested.
“At the moment we’ve probably got six different opinions as to what should happen.”
Gallagher will have the casting vote if the league’s six clubs cannot come to an agreement.
“There is a strong opinion that the game should be called off,” Twining said.
“At the end of the day, the credibility of the league is on the line and you’ve got to have integrity.
“To allow a team that has obviously cheated to play is not sitting well with the (league) president.”
Buchan is due to play Swan Reach in tomorrow’s grand final at Ensay in the first premiership decider of the country football season.
Bedggood was named best afield as Buchan came from five goals down at half time to win the first semi-final against Bruthen a fortnight ago.
He booted two goals and was named in Buchan’s best players in last weekend’s preliminary final win over Omeo-Benambra.
AFL????
This is the beautiful game thread - AFL is a woeful sport haha
Love transfer deadline day!!! Man Utd pretty active, losing Welbeck, Hernandez and Kagawa, gaining Falcao & Daley Blind. Don’t know why they didn’t get a CB and DM! They could be in trouble, as with Arsenal.
Chelsea see Torres gone and bring in Remy, I heard Cech was going to QPR but it seems he is staying at Chels to ride the pine.
