I ended up making her wear it even when carrying her board as the amount of times she hit herself in the head with it was too much to bear haha!

thats freaking hilarious!

Haha she’s quite the clumsy type sometimes, but picked up snowboarding like a champ! A helmet definitely improved confidence in both of us - she was more worried about people hitting her, and thats the only way she really got hurt, and me more so in knowing she’d be safe. Highly recommend if you are going to leave your partner and go off on a solo run or two.

I reckon the Schumacher story has highlighted the helmet issue a bit more, and that might be why more people are wearing helmets - in fact before the snow season my nervous parents gave me some cash specifically for a helmet. I used to be “helmets are lame”, and didn’t wear one on a school snow trip, but as you get older you start to think a bit more - plus helmets are much better designed these days and are pretty baller. Now I reckon helmets are the coolest!

Where else are you gonna put your stickers? wink

#1 use for helmets - protecting your head from over zealous bar lowering on chairlifts.
#2 use for helmets - protecting your head from that guy/girl in the Gondola queue looking for their mate and forgetting they have skis over their shoulder that are swinging around madly trying to get you.
#3 use for helmets - collecting kindling for your fire whilst riding trees.  2 for 1
#4 use for helmets - girls it’s an awesome handbag when your done for the day…stuff your goggs, neck warmer and gloves inside…keeps ya stuff together at Après wink

Decent brain bucket also.  Wiped myself out Thursday arvo - broke my arm.  Never even thought about my head, it was safe and cosy in my helmet. smile

I got a helmet originally coz i was getting a cold head and I found one with inbuilt headphones which i thought was a rad idea, turns out i never used the headphones but the helmet did save my noggin after a particularly aggressive NZ rainbow rail decided to claim me as a victim. A broken wrist was the only injury that could have been far worse judging by the scrap marks on my helmet after said mishap.

Another option for those of you looking for head protection is the #nojez patented Hair Helmet as modeled here by a young rapscallion

THIS! Recently got smacked in the head/face by a skiers stocks just as we were getting on the chair lift. Skier decided to adjust his goggles and wildly flung the stocks around and I was in the firing line.  angry

All 4 uses I can personally attest to, the helmet saved me on chairlift bar lowering numerous times - usually it was my girlfriend doing it though haha, she’s not too keen on chairlifts
