Israel is the only country where its Arab citizens aren’t treated like 2nd class citizens.

An interesting opinion piece on this topic.

Interesting that the author is of Palestinian descent!!!!!

Another thing is that while he points out that marriage in Israel won’t allow inter-faith bonds, he probably should also mention the same outcome if a Jewish/Muslim Marriage were to be sought after via the Palestinian Govt?????

Israel apparently do recognise interfaith/gay/etc marriages that have been performed outside of Israel though!!!!!

I’m guessin that they just don’t make a Rabbi perform a ceremony that goes against their doctrine!!!!!

I guess he doesn’t really talk about how the Palestinian refugees are treated in the surrounding Arab countries. Do the comparison on how they are treated in Israel compared to the other neighbouring countries. A lot of the Palestinian refugee problem falls squarely on their shoulders. Look at how Australia treats refugees…

Look at what would happen in a country under Sharia law if intermarriage, adultery or homosexuality is found out… it oftens results in the death penalty by stoning!

Israel isn’t perfect. All religions have their flaws. I prefer to look at the bigger picture of what’s happening. Ultimately I want the Palestinians to have their own state, I want all civilians to stop being used as pawns, I want terrorism to end and I want to see peace. You need to ask yourself what is really causing these things not to happen.

Yeah, cause the Irish are great example of neighbouring religions that get along like a house on fire!!!!!

If anything I would say they are an excellent example of how to make peace out of a terrible, long running, religion based political dispute. Things still aren’t perfect there but surely you’d agree that they’ve come a hell of a long way? Probably got more right to comment on it than others even, I’d say.

That’s why he goes on a rant about Bush, Obama, and Blair?????

It’s a wonder he didn’t blame Howard for the Israeli/Palestinian problems as well!!!!!

He comes across as a bit of nut to me!!!!!

Andrew Bolt is spot-on with this analysis, in my opinion.

You’d never guess that the Jews make up less than 0.2% of the world’s population (at least I didn’t know). The Jews have faced persecution throughout history, the most recent being a genocide in which 60% of the world’s Jewish population was murdered, for no reason other than they were Jewish. This isn’t ancient history, it was less than 70 years ago, and many Jewish people living today have been directly connected to the holocaust.

When Hamas, extremists and anti-semites around the world call for nothing short of the utter and complete destruction of Israel, and the murder of all Jews on earth… how do you think Israel is going to protect itself? Israel is fighting for the very right to exist, let alone to exist in peace. When they offer peace, when they offer land—they are still met with non-stop terrorism, suicide bombers, rockets launched into civilian areas. How can you integrate these people into your land when they want to destroy you?

I want nothing more than to see peace, not just in Israel and Gaza, but throughout the world—but it is impossible to dream of such a resolution when there is so much hatred for 0.2% of the world’s population. It saddens me incredibly. The hatred must end if there is to ever be peace.
