We should get Jez to summon Matty Galina & Geoff Brown (SandBox Pros) to come on here?????

Maybe ya young bloke will listen to what they’ve experienced, and why they choose to ride with a helmet?????

Oh, and welcome to Boardworld Lady Mumma Bear!!!!! shaka

cheers Mizu, I’ve missed your presence elsewhere wink
Hopefully offsprings head will stay in tact for the next 3 weeks until I get to Jindy.  I’ll shout him a new brain bucket and hope he chooses to wear it.

There’s a certain few that won’t!!!!! LOL

Oh, and if your youngster hasn’t seen The Crash Reel, that’s a great movie to watch in order to get the mind into “protective custody”!!!!!

mizu I recommended The Crash Reel to the two newbie lads in the lodge with us this week.  Convinced one to hire a helmet after a big whack to the head on a cat track, but hopefully they’ll both consider a helmet next time.

Love that you’re still effusive with your exclamation marks!!!!! wink

I reckon helmets are great to wear! Like, I find that you can commit more to your tricks, and board faster, because you know that if you do stack it, your head will be fine.
A lot of my friends wear beanies, and they always seem to complain when it’s bad weather because their heads get wet… so I guess having a dry head on bad days is a thumbs up as well.

Another thing about a stack, is when you do there’s no goggle retrieval with a helmet!!!!! LOL

I remember deano and Dylan both KOing themselves in lickarse Park at the perisher shred a couple of years back. My mate and I went into jindy that arvo and bought brain buckets, protec riot I think they are as we both have big noggins and they were the only comfy fitting ones we could find.

Since then I find myself riding without one early season until such time as I have a bit of an “off”. My off this year was a high speed half cab in flat light to heel edge high side followed by an incredibly graceful 10ft head first backwards flight path landing on my shoulder blades and head with a further tomahawk before sliding to a halt with goggles and beanie 15ft away. Lost vision for a couple of seconds and sufficiently rattled to go straight to the car and grab my helmet. On a side note I hit that hard that snow somehow got between the lenses on my eg2s and has totally fucken that lens.

Since then I have worn it everyday this season, was very glad on Saturday when I lost concentration on the hip at blue cow park and caught an edge and fell really heavily on my back and head again. Even with the helmet it rattled my brain a little, will continue to wear it this season and the girlfriend has decided she will too after watching that one ha ha!
