Facebook commenting just went live!

Thanks for all your feedback which helped us decide on this change.
Facebook commenting has now been enabled on all articles.
i.e. https://www.boardworld.com.au/snowboarding/duex-more-hammers-at-perisher
Please check it out and embrace this new feature. We would love to get more commenting happening on articles and we figured Facebook commenting is a great way to make this happen.
Anyway, it’s up and running. Let us know what you think.

Just so know I can’t access facebook at work which means I can’t login to comment on the articles.
I think you are excluding a bunch of people by not having the option to do both. I believe it is possible. I have seen a lot of other sites have dual commenting (using the sites own commenting feature and the facebook commenting).

Yeah, but barely anyone was commenting when we could use our member account to comment. That’s partially because member can talk on the forums and most of the same content gets pushed here.
We have enabled so you can also comment through Yahoo!, AOL or Hotmail account. This is all that Facebook commenting allows at the moment.
Overall, we made this decision to encourage more discussion on the articles as it wasn’t really happening with Boardworld member accounts.
Also, we will be fixing up how the post appears on your Facebook page, so it pulls the article image and appropriate text, rather than the ugly standard data you would be currently seeing. This is getting fixed very soon.
