Alternative $20< helmet camera

Want a helmet camera with wide angle fish eye lens to record your holiday without breaking your wallet?

Heres how;
First you need to buy a MD80 Mini DV camera or alternative

You can get them ranging from $10-20

Second you will require (if you want fish eye) to buy Jelly Lens - Wide angle fish eye, attachable lens.

These range from $1aud to $5aud.

Then you now have a fish eye helmet cam for less than 20 bucks.

You get what you pay for.

I’m not even going to look into this product before relaying this advice;
The mini DV video camera (eg:MD80) needed will cost a couple of hundred, needs video input and will be recording onto miniDV tape (best digital format for video). It has moving parts to drive the tape and are likely to break when bounced around in a back pack or pocket.

This (worlds smallest High Resolution camera-not HD) will decode a digital image to send an analog signal to the camera which re-encodes it back to digital for recording. It uses a pin camera, also known as a nanny cam or spycam. cheap as Cmos sensor.

Just use your phone, it will save you $10.

Agreed, it is a cheap camera - not the best but gets the job done.
I have this cam mounted at the bottom of my skateboard and another on my road bike.
I would rather have my 10 dollar camera from eBay be smashed up than a $800 phone.

Overall this cam, gets the job done, passable build quality and cheap for those who wants to mount it somewhere rough and does want damage to there high end/expensive cameras.

Yep, agreed snowforshow.

Can you link some of it’s footage?

There are cams that are tough enough to mount under a skateboard, get knocked off, run over and get close to broadcast quality footage for under $700, without a recorder around $200.
^but that is nowhere near $10. Anything can be broken.
