Wasnt really sure where best to post this but here is a little something you might not know, to me its important to be who you are and visibility (letting the world know) is a big step in any trans persons life!
My name is Riley, I skate, I love it, but my life is pretty crazy. I’m gay, in love with a beautiful girl named Kirsten, I’m a tomboy (for the moment maybe) I work full time, and all the while, currently transitioning from male to female. Yes you are correct! I am Transgender.
Life is pretty insane when you try to maintain everything while going through this slow, scary, exciting, rewarding but at times very overwhelming transition. I have been on female hormones since July 2013 and in November 2014 I undergo Sexual Reassignment Surgery.
I asked myself, do I keep this from the skate community/ youtube? But if I dont tell you guys how it is, then how can I/ we (the transgender community) ever expect to show you our existence and our diversity?
‘Being able to be who you are is as important as being able to breathe’. Fkn nailed it babe
You go girl!!
Good on you!! People come in all different forms.. (some times the one they get doesn’t suit how they feel… good for you for doing something about it!! Dont let anything or any one stand in the way of being who you are!).
Hope everything goes to plan!!
That’s a long and probably frustrating road you’re traveling - nothing but support from here!!
Right on, Riley! Nothing but support from the Boardworld community!
What they all said!
Thanks for sharing I think the more stories like this people see the better! I can imagine it makes a huge difference to young people going through similar things to see others sharing their stories and showing them that it’s ok to be themselves!
Right on, Riley! Nothing but support from the Boardworld community!
Yup this!!
Thanks so much guys, seriously.
Right on, Riley! Nothing but support from the Boardworld community!
+1
Stand tall being who you are - not withering being who the world wants you to be.
F**k yeah Riley do what you want, be who you want to be and be happy! Heaps of support here!
Gahhh you guys are the best!
Good on you Riley! As the others have said, nothing but respect and support coming from this way.
I can appreciate the courage it must take to “come out” as you have.
I don’t think (at least I hope not) we’re too far away from being at a point where society as a whole can accept everybody for who they are, and not who they want them to be. The sooner that happens the better IMO.
