Hi guys,
Sorry if this is a repeat thread… but
I’m new to the forum. Although I am relatively new to snowboarding, I have been wakeboarding etc for years so I’m pretty confident on a board.
I’m heading to Niseko in Jan next year and I’m looking to buy a setup. I have recently purchased Union Force bindings L/XL. I’ve been looking at Lib Tech Travis Rice Pro & Burton Process. I am 6” & 85kgs & keen to hit up some powder & park etc
I already have Burton Hail boots in size 10 but they’re slightly too small so will upgrade them too.
What are your thoughts as I am not overly snowboard savvy. Thanks
Welcome to Boardworld, Michael!!!!!
Firstly, boots!!!!!
Try, try, try them on!!!!!! Your feet will thankyou for this!!!!!
Havin had a TRice before, I reckon it was made for powder, so Japan will love this board!!!!!
Your weight, go the 161.5!!!!!
Thank you.
Did you find the TRice good for park/kickers?
With regard to boots what should I be looking out for in a freestyle boot? I liked my Hail boots but I have grown out of them I think
While I’m definitely not one to ask when regarding to Park, the TRice will be nice and solid to launch, and super stable to land when hittin the booters!!!!!
It’s only downfall is that the C2 Profile can make the board track unpredictably when flat basing, so ya gotta be on ya game when bombin the groomers!!!!!
A more Freestyle orientated boot would be more geared towards a mid to soft flex, with soft bein more the choice for a rider that wants to tweak/bone out their tricks!!!!!
Your board/binding choice are on the stiff side of the spectrum, so I’d be more inclined to at least have somethin mid range or stiffer if it was me!!!!!
Havin said that, the “feel” of all ya equipment is somewhat of a personal preference at the end of the day!!!!!
Just keep in mind when tryin on boots that they will not only pack out, they will also get slightly more softer as you bed them in!!!!!
