I’m with BKR, Sweden was amazing! Great historical gothic place and I had a great time there. We went to Stolkholm, Uppsala and on a student cruise to Latvia (Riga). Great people all over, great things to see and just a fantastic part of my trip. Would have liked to get out more and explore but young me was naive at travelling so we just did what we planned lol.
Some pics to show off.

Also, Assisi was another cool place if you’re in Rome and want to do a day or overnight trip. Only a few hours on the train.
There is the ruins of an old castle at the top (see bottom photo for the view) which is pretty cool to explore and probably only like 10 euro to get into.
Awwww, Look at TJ’s baby face in that last pic
Hey Jez, I heard you need a hand

haha I would have been like 21…
Agreed with TJ that Assisi is a great spot and well worth visiting. I had zero expectations and it ended up being one of my fave spots in Italy, along with Rome and Pompeii.
Also, ozgirl, I didn’t particularly like Barcelona either and much preferred Madrid (despite my football allegiances going the other way!) The city has a great vibe and is worth a visit but I found the sea of concrete apartments and lack of trees suffocating unless we were on the beach! Look at an aerial photograph of the city and you might get my drift.
Toledo is also a great place, with heaps of history.
My number 1 recommendation though is NORWAY! Unlimited incredible scenery.
There are some great train trips you can do from Oslo and Bergen - details here:

My big recommendation for Accommo is to check out airbnb in all the places you’re going to. Can definitely still find bargains on there.
Some great museums/galleries to visit while in Spain:
. Prado in Madrid
. Picasso museum in Barcelona
. Guggenheim Bilbao
I would say these are not to be missed.
edit: also La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. Don’t climb the spires if you don’t like heights
OMG Kym!
Look at those pics of the kids!

Siena is really nice, much quieter than florence and the cathedral is a sight more impressive.
A visit to Lords to watch your boys give the poms a bashing (I believe the timing works out)
And this final one I stumbled upon by accident honest,
Amazing gardens near Naples and the Amalfi coast.
Never been over seas…
Buuut I saw sk mentioned Croatia. And id love to go there even for just a day to see the plitvice lakes.. They are amazing!!
Also if you get to Turkey go to pamukkale! (mineral baths)
Also Greece for this beach!
Navagio beach in Zakynthos island (nick named ship wreck beach, for the huge ship wrecked on the beach)
