2014 ASP J-Bay Open

So the half way point(ish) of the 2104 ASP WCT circus stops in a J-Bay - South Africa, much to the delight of all the lads on tour as this spot was left out of last couple of years.

Gabriel Medina and Michel Bourez have been showing fine form of late, after Gabby lost his footing after the Quick Pro on the Goldie but managed to bounce back with a couple of big results. And Michel got on a roll after the Drug Aware Pro in West Oz. Nat Young is another guy thats red hot the moment too.

In order to take these wonder kids down the big names of Slater, Fanning, Parko, John John and Jordy all need a big result here!! (Get your fantasy surfer picks right!!)

Batten down the hatches ladies and gents! This is sure to be a show stopper with that looonnnnggggg perfect right hand point break firing. Me thinks the real contenders for world title race will start to show their face after this event.

Don’t normally take much notice of the ASP, but my brother is in South Africa with his family and they are going to be there for it…so will def keep up as much as I can!

Wilko is our local hero, I’d love to see him win! Must have been a pretty surreal experience knocking out Kelly one-on-one.

Aussie domination! Congrats to Mick Fanning on the win, well deserved. All four semi finalists were Aussies, with Taj also coming close to making the semis. Check out the video highlights from the final day.

Just got back from the snow and checked the finals on the heat analyser!!
