Pretty much everything is expensive at this time of year lano, I’m not sure you’d find much else. Most places are booked out, it’s insane! All properties will be priced the same unless you want to commute further and stay in East Jindy. I prefer to stay in the heart of Jindy, then everything is walking distance
Hmmm yeah I just did a quick look at places that I would stay at or suggest to people and they were either more expensive or sold out.
Be curious to know where you do end up Lano.
(for a point of reference The Station is more expensive than what I quoted you Lano)
dunno anymore, dealing with difficult people.
well LJ when i called last Friday told me $410 for 2nights 2 ppl.
also ozsnowadventures had 2 night + 2 lift passes for 249
and also Jez told me about this other place that had 2 night for 155.
but unfortunately they all booked out because i left it till to late as always my mates couldn’t confirm till closer to the week due to they work.

Couldn’t agree with you more Jenna but due to circumstance with my mates and they working conditions in annoying.

I know what you mean, so hard to try and organise other people. So frustrating when they won’t commit and when they finally do it’s too late.
Fuck i hate ppl that cant commit to shit.
Do what I always used to do and go by yourself. You can’t rely on people for short snow trips. If you want to go, just make it happen. Solo trips are often the best. Even do a day trip if you have to. Crash one night somewhere, even in Cooma. Cooma us often overlooked and very under-rated.
Drive overnight to the snow, ride all day, drive back to Cooma, stay at the Bunk House for like $30 (private room with bathroom), ride again the next day then drive home. It’s a bit of driving and you’ll be tired at the end of it, but you’ve got your two day snow trip and only paid $30 for accommodation. Boom. Or pay for the extra night and get a bit more rest haha. Either way, it’s totally do-able.

This has been my motto since day one and extends as far as overseas trips. If I stuck around waiting for others I wouldn’t have had half the great experiences I’ve had.
Funnily enough I had a few mates conference call me yesterday wanting to organise a weekend at Thredbo. I gave them a bunch of tips but in the end pretty much said I’ll be there on these dates, staying here, riding here, it would be great if you joined me but if not I’ll be there anyway!
If you can’t make an Aussie snow trip work (which is extremely simple in the scheme of things) than you obviously don’t want it enough!
My first overseas snowboarding trip was a solo one. Three weeks in Canada… it was epic!
I agree on all counts…
I don’t know i just hate going by my self., any ways move along its a same story with me every season lol .

My first overseas (and snowboarding) trip was Japan! People thought I was a bit crazy going solo to a non english speaking place on my first time out of oz. I learnt so much about myself as a result of a few pretty testing situations (shocking dorm room, stuff stolen and dealing with the police etc) but it also forged an absolute love for the Japan and travelling in general.
I agree on all counts…
Get yourself some camping gear mate and join us weekend warriors! As of next weekend I’ll probably start doing fortnightly Thredbo trips if you need a riding buddy.

Haha you’re not wrong. Unfortunately I could set my watch based on Lano failed trips!
amen to that brother..
I swear to go for me its easier to organize OS trip then 6 hours away trip.
Yeah definitely will chat when you get back, but yeah driving buddy sounds good.
i think my old man has a tent already and some camping gear.
I hear you, DRC. My first trip to Canada made me realise what I really wanted to do with my life (I already knew but experiencing it first hand just made me want it even more). Now many years down the track, I’ve done several seasons in Whistler and making an almost permanent move back there in September. It’s become my second home and my way of life. I’m not sure I would have ever experienced the things I have if I didn’t make that first solo trip over there.
Not making excuses but its different when you are married…
I did many solo trips everywhere including living OS for 1.5 years while playing soccer and traveling with soccer.
but when you are married its a different story .... at least for me.
Lano - I think I have lost count of how many times i have offered to take you…
To be honest I am kind of over it. We have this same discussion year after year.
I leave the city at 6pm Friday’s $40 for the lounge room floor at my parents. (but this is only for you not your mates - sorry) Plus sharing fuel costs with whoever is in my car.
