Sounds awesome! Make sure you try out Fergbaker next door to Fergburger as well. They make the best pies I have ever eaten!!

Cheers, certainly will. I’m going to put paleo to the side for the next couple of weeks as I’ve been recommended about 6 different bakeries I “have” to eat at! smile

If you think of any other activites/places to eat I should do let me know shaka

Cow Place Pizza.

Best thing is its communal tables so you will meet people!

Oh and just in case you aren’t aware shots in New Zealand aren’t the same measure as they are here.

So drinks specials on “doubles” are actually a standard drink here.

Thanks Kim!

Hah I think I’ve had like 1 cider in the past two months so even a sniff of a shot should have me happily buzzed smile

Get back on the 13th straight to work the next day but can then kick off from the following weekend and every 2nd weekend after that one I should have 3 day weekends! Definitely keen on a multiple catchups over the season!

Like Oz said, the Cow is good for communal eats, but the Boss and I got a hideous Flu from our “guests” when went there!!!!! Just lucky it was on the last day!!!!!

Fine eats at The Bunker are good ($$$$$), atlas Beer Cafe is a great place if ya can jag a seat, anythin with Ferg in it is good for the taste buds, and there’s some pretty good Japanese Eats in the town as well!!!!! (Just don’t expect Japanese Prices though)

* Hope this isn’t too late!!!!! shaka

Has anyone caught a shuttle to Cardrona from Queenstown?

We are staying in QT for a week and keen to hit up Cardrona at least 1 day, but hoping for more as I’ve heard that its a bit less crowded and got some good terrain - is this true??

We don’t have a hire car but if its the better way to go for getting to Cardrona then I might look into it.

I found a shuttle that picks you up and drops you off from your hotel for $45 per person.. or $119 for return plus lift ticket which seems like good value as lift tickets are $99 anyway.. This is through Kiwi Discovery

Haven’t done a shuttle, but if there’s a few of ya the costs of a car will be absorbed a bit!!!!!

There might even be a Lift/Car Hire Deal too????? Pretty sure Dave got some deal with his vehicle!!!!!

The freedom of a car is awesome, and you can drive down into Wanaka after a day on Cardrona, then maybe head back through to Arrowtown, for example, for a beverage or two then back to base for the night!!!!! then repeat next day, but go visit somewhere different????? There’s some cool little places around the area that you just won’t get to see without ya own wheels!!!!!

Plus the drive up the mountain is somewhat a buzz!!!!!

Hey mate, the missus and I caught the shuttle to Cadrona a couple years ago when we were in QT even though we had a car. Im pretty sure we went through kiwi discovery as well and did the shuttle and lift ticket. It was a piece of cake and the price is pretty good. I remember they picked us up at 7am and it was an hour and a half to Cadrona and left right at the end of the day.

Would recommend it as it lets you relax while they do all the hard work. Cadrona was my favourite out of Coronet, Remarkles and Cadrona.

I just got back from 2 weeks in NZ and can confirm there is barely any snow over there at the moment although there is some fresh stuff in the forecast.

Having said that what an amazingly beautiful country I couldn’t stop saying wow and although blasphemy around these parts the few times I did go snowboarding (at treble cone) I kind of felt guilty for not being out exploring more. Ended up doing a shitload of hiking.

Yes it’s currently NZ school/uni holidays (plus some Aussie school holidays are still going) and because of the lack of snow everyone would be concentrated into the one small area hence why it would look so crowded (it wasn’t too bad out at TC)

I’ll be keeping my fingers and toes crossed they get some more snow this week! We are heading over on Saturday. After such epic snow there last year we had high hopes but I don’t think this year is going to come even remotely close. If I didn’t love Queenstown so much I’d be kicking myself for missing awesome aus snow to go to average NZ snow!!
