Hey guys!
I am a 20 year old guy from Melbourne, Australia.
I just joined up this forum to make this post, mainly because everyone seems so damn nice and helpful!!
Anyways,
I am pretty certain that I will be going to Whistler for the 2014/15 season, super excited to get out there and smash some runs but the whole thing is quite overwhelming. Especially when it comes to getting a job and finding accom.
Does anybody have an idea on how early before the season starts I should get there to secure a job for the season?
I would love to have one secured before I leave but I am not very keen on paying the 900 odd dollars to the working holiday group to be given a job sweeping floors all day.
Ideally I would like to work for the resort though so I could get in on staff accom, although failing that I guess I would just look for a share house somewhere, is this easy to come by also?
In regards to equipment, should I bring my (pretty average) board and stuff? are prices for new boards, boots and bindings insane at the mountain?
I feel like I have so many more questions but I can’t seem to think of them!
I was planning on arriving around the very early December time (too early? :$)
Thanks in advance, you guys seem like an awesome bunch
Welcome mate.
Have a look at a few posts before yours.
Literally the exact same question has been asked twice that i can think of.
Check out the info in them.
Wow, I have no idea how I didn’t see those!!
Sorry man!
Welcome!
Yep as Deano said there are a few thread that have all the answer you need.
This one in particular.

Sorry man!
No need to apologise mate!
So I guess the main thing I am wondering is, if get there around late november- early december is that too late to find a job relatively easily?
I would ideally love to work for the mountain company and stay in staff accom but that is hard when you need to be over there in september for the job fairs :(
