Another question. Where are these boards being made? They’re not an alibaba purchase are they? Both angry snowboarder and illicit have had recent articles on that kinda thing.
These are being made out of china. Which I am guessing is the same as fyve and a couple of other brands I know (I don’t know that for sure but from what I see of their posts on social media I’m just guessing but if someone knows for sure I’d be keen to know)
Nah these aren’t, I tried to go down that path first. Every factory tells you they are the manufacturer of K2(contacted a good 10 companies how can all of them be manufacturers?), then generally do all they can to fuck you round and send you out a product that if you tried to sell it would be laughed out of business, not to mention the product probably wont be in the size and specs they told you.
Managed to source someone through other channels. The factory has been around for about 15 years. Most of the ingredients that go into the board are are sourced from Europe. They manufacture for a number of brands throughout europe the us and Japan(K2 haha) and are pretty knowledgeable when it comes to board tech and they take a huge amount of pride in their work. They’re always in contact with me about new tech they have added, most of its gymic crap(check the led boards video on our instagram/facebook)
I am still unsure on length of warranty for defects I’ll be offering. Its going to be more than 3 years but I don’t think I can offer a lifetime.
I’d be interested to see how much where a board is made affects people purchase? I could make these boards myself but they would probably be fucking terrible. I have seen a couple of things over the internet saying manufacturing boards in china is terrible, but then having your outwear or boots made in china is fine?
Nah. I bought 2 burton boards made last season. One was made in Austria and the other China. Both are good quality.
Bones Reds bearings are “China Reds” and they are still good.
I think it just comes down to a products manufacturing tolerances. I personally would prefer to hear of a board coming from austria or something, but I’m not rich enough to argue
@Kynee: When can we see the specs of the board?
Work with one of your mates, Jamie. Head chef at The Man on Perisher.
Not positive, but think we’re doing a competition or something with a few of your boards?
hey sorry, it wouldn’t let me log in for a few days and I forgot about to come back.
Most the specs are up on the site now. Check the blogs for more details one the boards.
Yeah Jamie is mates with my business partner. I think the man have some boards up there as of today so I you want to check them out. They will be giving away a bunch this season as well check my page or theirs for details.
Should have some for sale in the Stash House in Jindy soon as well if you want to check them out.
