Your robot restaurant show was completely different to the one I saw as well, all the more reason to go back again the next time I’m in Tokyo!

What’s the go with tree riding/skiing in Japan these days? Years ago I thought it was a bit of a no-no because it pissed off the locals (disturbed spirits in trees?), but every edit I see now has tree riding.

Tree run’s are a MUST whilst in Japan, well at least Niseko anyway

When I was in Hakuba tree riding and anything back country/off piste was a big no no! I’m not sure if it’s still the same. Even ducking the rope to ride under the lift where some of the untouched stuff tends to be was frowned upon and I remember vaguely they had really strict penalties if you got caught. However in Niseko, Moiwa and Rusutsu there was heaps of tree riding to be had and you could duck into the back country (often you had to have a special pass for that but plenty of people did it without the pass)...

Cool vid! I’m also thinking of heading back to Japan this year! I think mid October/November I’ll head to Tokyo, travel around for a bit then set up in Hakuba
