Cheers Dan
Just found this map which is pretty handy for those who haven’t been to whilster before as it shows the main area where rental properties are in comparison to the village and creekside
guy posted this up around a week ago on another forum I’m on.. it’s got me excited
For those of you heading to Canada this year, i have a feeling it is going to be a good year. I took this photo 2 days ago as i was driving from Montreal to Vancouver, These are the mountains in Banff national park. Supposedly whistler quite a few cm’s of snow too, a week or so ago. It’s only the 3rd day of autumn here. People are saying december is going to be a cold wet one in vancouver which will mean lots of snow for the mountains.
Awesome, so stoked to get back there!
We are pretty close to signing a lease for a really nice one bedroom suite in Brio. Just have a mate checking it out first but I think we’ll be calling it home.
Nice one Jeremy, still hunting here but made contact with a few people on craigslist, just waiting to hear back.
I’m hoping the mountain opens really early this season…
Let me know how your house hunting goes.
Have you checked out rideonwhistler.com? The house in Brio looks great. The suite we are taking is downstairs.
Yeah I’ve seen the site before. Just not sure if I really want to be paying a bit over $900 a month for a shared room. Doesn’t leave much money when you’re only earning ~$11 an hour which is what I’ll be on (unless they’ve revamped the pay structure for liftys which I highly doubt)
I’ll 2nd your thoughts on the mountain opening early, last year was the 14th of November (as compared to the 26th in 08 from memory). I’m hoping to get my staff pass sorted as soon as I’m in town so I’m ready for an early opening to the season.
That’s heaps of snow already! Awesome. hahaha looks more snowy than Aus during peak season.
On the Whistler website it reckons it opens on 25 Nov… http://www.whistlerblackcomb.com/mountain/hours/index.htm
It also says it is subject to change. Hopefully its earlier
That’s great you found somewhere good to stay Jeremy. Like Mike mentioned were still searching.
If they have enough snow, they will open earlier for sure.
Good luck with the search. There seems to be quite a few listings in the Pique.
Hey guys!
My friend and I are coming to Whistler on 30th November until 17th Feb!
We are looking for accom atm and have a found a reasonably priced 2 bdrm in the upper village.
The bed configuartions are a den with a split king (where my friend and I will sleep) and a bedroom with a queen, so we are looking for two people (either a couple or two people who are willing to share a bed).
It is located on painted cliff rd. in the benchlands, walk to slopes in minutes, has a large hot tub on your own deck(no other units look in very private), sleeps 4 (1queen,2 twins), high speed internet, insuite laundry, kitchen fully stocked with cookware, 10 min walk to village or free shuttle goes by driveway every 30 mins
The price is around 3750CAD for the 78 nights if we get four people.
I am 19 and my friend, Tom, is 20 and we are from Aus!

Hey harty,
Welcome to the Forums!
Do you know if that house would be available for the whole season? I think most the people on here are looking for a house for the full season (till end of April).
Sounds like a great place!
yea from what I can tell from the site it is available all season!
unfortunatley Im at uni so cant stay the whole time which is going to make it difficult to get a job i think!
Have you guys found anything yet?
Hey guys! I’m looking to rent a place starting in November. This will be my third year teaching in whistler, i am 23 years old and very easy going. I’m looking to spend about 550 - 650 a month somewhere near the village preferred. Give me an email if you want me as a roommate or know of anything good.
Cheers

Dan is inspecting a place tomorrow that an owner is holding for us since we got in as soon as it was advertised and he just got to whistler the other day. Was meant to check it out yesterday but owner had to postpone the inspection. Benchlands location works really well since I’ll most likely be working out of the springs and rah is working at glacier creek so being on the free bus loop out on benchlands is perfect for both of us. Compared to the other properties out that way it’s reasonably priced (have seen a 2BR apartment at lost lake lodge for $600 more than what we’re looking at +utils)
Was hoping to find somewhere else a bit cheaper since this is a bit of a stretch on intrawest wages but given it’s got all utils included and no bus fares it kind of balances out. Just have to not go out at night as much as I did last time which is what I was already planning on. Just stocking up on TV series and movies at the moment so they’ll kill plenty of time at night.
