A few I’ve recently seen:
Lone Survivor
Pretty interesting and well done movie about a Navy Seals team on an assassination mission in Afghanistan that goes a bit wrong. Definitely worth a watch, especially since it is based on a true story.
47 Ronin
It doesn’t matter what it’s about, it’s terrible. Don’t waste your time.
Ender’s Game
This seemed to have received a fair bit of negative press but I found it to be OK. It’s a sci-fi about kids being trained to fight aliens. Not as good as the book, but worth a watch.
haha mud I’ve watched Lone Survivor and 47 Ronin in the last couple of weeks as well.
Lone Survivor was so damn stressful! Lots of clenched fists and taking cover behind couch pillows in that one!
47 Ronin was…interesting. Not an amazing movie but wasn’t particularly sorry that I watched it, either.

not a movie but the wife finally caught up to the red wedding episode on game of thrones, watching her watch was just as entertaining!
Also saw “All Is Lost”. It’s a survival film with Robert Redford. Survival films aren’t generally my thing, but this was certainly very well done. Worth a watch.
Watched Captain Phillips last night, about a cargo ship that gets hijacked by samali pirates, based on a true story that happened only 5 or 6 years ago.

Enders Game was good.
Started Captain Phillips but stopped it in the first 2min - I didn’t realise it was ‘that movie’ at the time. Haven’t had a chance to give it another go.
Wolf of Wall St. — Loved it. Crazy movie, great performances. 8/10
Lone Survivor — Intense story, gripping, very well made. A story that needs to be told. 7/10
I recommend both of the above.

Haha we watched it in the Bahamas with Michelle’s family who are all sailors and they all thought it was horrible (so did I). I rated this 4/10 on IMDB. Sorry Mud.

We started watching Tim Winton’s “The Turning” last week. The book is a collection of short stories which are connected in a way… the movie has each story/chapter directed by a different director, one of whom is Shaun Gladwell, who’s iconic skateboarding footage of a skater on the concrete wall at Bondi during a storm (called Storm) plays in the National Gallery.
It is VERY long, and we only watched the first couple of chapters so far, but it gets you in. Mixed reviews, and it’s unusual, but we are liking it.
Watched the Carrie remake the other day, my advice to you all is dont make my mistake. Twas RUBBISH!!!!!!!!!!
