Anyone know some good card games? Cards are pretty easy to take when travelling (been camping a bit lately and they’re good for that) but I don’t really know many games. Poker is good but better with chips but then they’re not easy to travel with.
My wife and her family got me into playing crib (cribbage?). It’s really fun but you do also need a crib board (you can get travel size). You can play 2 or 4 players.
Go Fish is another fun game. Uno is good too but you need Uno cards.
My favourite is definitely poker. You can get small/lightweight chips and get creative with the dominations (different colours) so you can play with minimal chips. This is best for playing tournament style. You don’t even really need actual chips as long as you have some sort of currency.
If ya have 4/6 players, Euchre or 500 are good games!!!!!

While you need an even number to play Euchre or 500, a crew of 5 people will be great for Black B!tch!!!!!

Actually this might be a good place to ask about a card game that been bugging me for a while it was quite a number of years back at a poker night after a few drink so my memory of the rules are really sketchy. It was a really fun gambling game that started out cheap but got really expensive quickly (started with dollars ended up with swings of multiple hundreds)
It revolved around starting with an ante in the pot, you went around in a circle and your maximum bet could be up to the size of the current pot (I enjoyed the strategy where you could roughly count the cards visible and adjust bet sizing accordingly). I think there were two random cards acting as “goal posts” and you had to randomly draw a card and if it was in between the two cards you won the pot if it was outside you lost your bet if you hit a goal post (i.e same card value) you had to put in double the pot (expensive!) Now this could be completely wrong but does it sound somewhat familiar to anyone?
the kids play spit, poohead, (don’t ask me how to play them but I know you have to eat the “poo”. That one strted at ski school ) Azz plays snap and the folks play 500 and bolivia every week.
