Yeah, I will ride a few days without my Reminds wait for the liner to pack out a bit and try them with the Reminds again. Just by walking around and flexing them at home feels much better already.

Ok so the chafing problem is gone but now I got another problem. My right foot kept getting numb. While riding I can last 2-3 hours before I have to go the lodge to take off my boot (only my right one is getting numb). I tried not tightening up the liner tight (enough to keep my foot down on the footbed) and I’m also not tightening up the lower zone to the max (only pull a little bit); still getting the problem. I think it’s because the top of the boot is pushing against the bone at top of my foot and it’s cutting the circulation a bit. I hope this will go away the more I break the boots in.
Do u wear thick or thin socks?
Also it may feel numb in the foot, but you said you loosened the lower zone and it didn’t work. So maybe try running the upper section looser, that may be where the blood is getting cut off.
Thick socks (not super thick but definitely not thin). I’ll try loosening the upper zone next time. I’m just afraid it’ll have less response because the tongue will not be tight to the shin if the upper zone is a bit loose right?
well, you’re trying to solve the numb foot problem, right? so figure that out, then figure out how to get the boots tight enough to ride, without foot numbness.

@MarcD: Will do. The weird thing is sometimes just with the boots loose sitting down (e.g. in the car/bus) it still can become slightly numb.

My Ions would always make my feet numb when I sat down for a while. Does the SLX have foam liners like the Ions? Cause those things suck!
I think this problem will resolve itself when you have fully broken the boots in (you chose not to heat mould — which is fine, but understand it will take a bit of time for you to naturally mould the boots to your foot shape).
You’re probably doing this already, but make sure you always loosen the straps on your front foot when you get back to the chairlift. You are goofy, aren’t you? Sore foot = front foot? Loosen those straps when not shredding!
Also, you might be clicking one too many clicks on your binding strap, which is causing pressure on the top of your foot (and yes this will make them numb). Until your boots break in, back off the tightness of your straps just a bit to minimise the pressure.
@andy: No idea dude. It’s their new infinite liner thing not sure if it’s foam or not. I prefer the old liner way more. My big toe on my right foot is also “jamming” against the front of the boots too at times.
@rider: I don’t actually loosen up the straps but I don’t crank them down super tight when riding, maybe 1 click from super tight. Ya I hope after the boots break in this shouldn’t be a problem. Worst case scenario I just switch with my Driver X liner or even use my Driver X for my right foot which is gonna be super weird lol (prolly not gonna do that).
Ok I managed to fix my numbing problem just by loosening the lower zone. Now I ran into another problem which I mentioned before. My big toe kept jamming to the front of the boots on heelside turns. I think Burton shaved off the front of the boots even more, because I don’t have this problem with my DriverX before.
Give it time. I will pack out to a certain extent. If after a couple of weeks it’s still not enough room, you can get the toe box punched out a bit at any reputable ski/snowboard store.
