Ahoy there BW peeps
After going through a big box of my stuff my mum brought down to my house with her at xmas that was full of my old school junk and other rubbish i cant believe she kept, i was shocked and stoked to find my grand fathers stamp collection from when he was a boy. The date he wrote under his name in the front was 1940 so its old as all heck, and because of this i assume that alot of the stamps are really old aswell. Theres even ones from countries i never knew existed and im pretty sure dont exist anymore.
So I was wondering if anyone here is into stamps and could tell me more about them and if they are worth anything.
Ive done a quick google on some of the ones from the first page which is dedicated to aussie stamps and there some of them are of a little bit of value. Then as i was scrolling through the pages, i found this guy
Old happy fun times adolf.
So ive decided to scan all the pages into my computer so i can email/host them somewhere for people to check out.
There is about 600 stamps in the book and then another 100 or so loose in an envelope.

I’ve got a stamp collection, and while I can’t give a value on your stamps (there are books you can buy, and prob info online nows days), I do know that if they have a postage mark (the black ink stamp) on them, they won’t be worth much!!!!!
Plus bein stuck into a book kinds devalues them as well!!!!!
* Mind you, if they’re as rare as anal warts on a zucchini, then the above rules of thumbage may not apply!!!!!
ive got a massive stamp collection at home from when i was kid. My grandfather was right into it.
Not sure where it is today? Think the old man has it tucked away? Most of mine are from the early 90’s. I know Pop had quite a few rare one from the late 1700’s??
All set aside for my retirement!
Take em into the post office TRP, they might have an idea as to the value!
Holy shit balls! I just hit 1000 posts after 5 years of BW-ing hahaha!
That’s pretty cool, defs should look into getting them valued.

Don’t do that, they won’t know.
If you do want to get them valued let me know I should be able to find someone in the office who can do it.

yeah i want to get them valued, purely out of interest really. I wont sell them due to them being my grandfathers, ill pass them down to pacey, UNLESS i have something uber rare that will pay off my mortgage haha
Your based in Sydney yeah?
I’ll see if I can find someone in the philatelic department who can point me in the right direction.
Otherwise one of these events may be a good place to start - http://shop.auspost.com.au/stamp-coin-collectables/for-collectors/events

Either that or I know you have a mate down here that would help you out too
