Anyone’s fisherman?

I’d mount it. If you catch them all the time, sell them. keep some for your self maybe.

Pretty sure you cant release them once in boat because usually they gaff the fuck out of them to get them in the boat.

Yeah, all of the above.

When the fish is mounted, its a fibreglass cast of the fish. They do it straight away, take lots of pics and the dude recreates the fish in fibreglass. One of my teachers years ago caught a record breaker and showed us the whole shooting match from catch to mounted and eaten smile

Whenever you see the term “flak” on a menu board or in a restaurant as a description of the type of fish used; it’s often a game fish and what’s sold to market after the fisherman takes his portion.
Or at least it used to be.
Shark is also a game fish: often flak is referred to as shark but it’s not always the case, more of a generic term; offcuts from unidentified species but suitable for consumption.

Flak is what most fish&chip; shops sell.

Used to be maybe, but you can’t legally sell fish you have caught without a commercial licence, so gamefish are mostly not on sold. I saw someone get slapped with 20 k in fines for selling fish on the black market so it is done but its risky thats for sure.

Personally I wouldn’t eat really big specimens of any large predatory fish because of the accumulation of heavy metals plus if I wasn’t eating it id rather take a photo than a trophy.

Fred and I went on a bit of a road trip on saturday, just to drive around and see parts around where we live that we have never been to. After a delicious bbq lunch and getting super close to a herd of reindeer, a few minutes more drive and we found this spot. Has to be trout in there, we thought!
Fred had his fishing rod in the car so he gave it a go. 3rd cast - BOOM! Fish on!
