Stoked that I got to see the northern lights last night.
Shades of green and even some red.

So epic and that one finally ticked off the bucket list!

super jealous of you Cords!!  I would love to see them, (and take some photos of them)  I get amazed by looking at videos and photos… Can’t imagine what it would be like to actually be there!

Haven’t seen them, really want to…. There’s an alert system for seeing them in Oz, will let you know next time there’s one likely. You can see them up your way on occasion, if you can find a dark area. ( last alert I got was this week)

Isn’t that Aurora Australis though, Tambazz?

I’ve been in sweden for 3 seasons now Hoz and this was my first time seeing the nthn lights. You have to be a little bit lucky! Most of the time when its good conditions for it, its freakin’ cold so you mostly just have a quick check for them when you’re making your way from the car to the house or vice versa.
I was lucky to be tipped off by a fb post by someone from work.
Could sort of see it outside our house but a bit too much light pollution so we jumped in the car and drove out into the middle of nowhere and it was epic!

Here is someone else’s pic from here in Åre the same night, but a couple of hours earlier:

Yep, aurora australis. Same cause, same beauty, except of course for the snow covered background in much of Oz. Seen pretty often in Tasmania. I don’t care which one I see, or where it would be awesome. Good on you Cords, bet it felt magic.

I was lucky enough to see them one night when I lived in Canada.

Thankfully someone knew and told me and made a big deal about it to me cause otherwise I would have never known and then missed it!

One of my best nights in Canada grin
