My apologies to Mervin, they did Get back to me yesterday;

“Hello Ian,
We are very proud of our TNT base and its performance that requires less maintenance than a sintered base. That said, it is always wise to wax a new board after purchase. Our boards do come with a factory wax that helps keep the base from drying out. Take the time to get to know your new board and inspect her closely, tell her your secrets and give her a nice hot wax and scrape before taking your new acquaintance out.
Excellent call with the Skunk, which is a board that just can’t be stopped!

Thank you for your support!

Doesn’t really answer the question but kind of does at the same time.

Thanks again BW members, I learnt a bit about my board from your feedback

Yeah that kinda looks like a cut-n-paste from a list of previously prepared Q&As;.  It doesn’t really answer your question, but may be as close as you’re going to get.
