Was up in South West Rocks last week visiting my cousin and his family. We went out fishing on thurs at a spot off Smokey Cape. Between us we caught about 8 fish…a couple of Mahi Mahi and a bunch of Kingfish. Only one was a keeper though. Had it for dinner that night in a thai soup and it was delicious!
Me with my kingfish. 62cm and a tad undersize so he went back. Great fun, though!
My cousin with his 71cm Kingfish that was the keeper and dinner.
came across this one this morning. Jindabyne local in Lake Jindy at night
but I didn’t have any idea that these trout existed…..
up to 2m in length, and 90kg????
We went freediving and spearfishing today (no gun, using a sling). Our buddy Justin caught 5 fish, including this snapper Michelle is holding.
One of mates caught this on the weekend, far out
No way! What the hell is it?
edit: is he a midget?
They prefer to be called Jez’s not midgets
Sailfish or Marlin, you know those fish with swords attached to their faces.
Jase is taller than me, that is a massive fish. 102kg it weighed in at. He has been chasing them for years. Hooked three over the weekend, landed one.
That’s a blue Marlin. I think blue are the biggest of all marlin species.
Sailfish and Marlin are different fish but both members of the billfish family.
Yeah, thats correct spaz, its a really big fish

Ive never been into fishing so what do you do with a fish that big after you’ve caught it?? do you eat it?? Stuff and mount it?
