Board advice for japan
Hi guys
Going to japan for 2 weeks in February and looking at some advice for a new board I guess specifically just for japan ie the POW but also ok on the groomers
I am an intermediate rider weigh 74kg 178cm tall size 10 boot.
Currently have a 155 k2 parkstar 2011. This was my first board.
Been looking at the Lib tech La Niña 159 but people have said a 156 would be better if so should I just stick with the parkstar and set binding back.
Any help regarding the above would be much appreciated

the 59 la nina would be great for you. The nose is rockered so it won’t feel like a longer board on groomers (as the nose is up in the air). In pow you’d get the benefit of the full 159cm plus the rocker.
whereabouts in Japan are you going?
It kinda depends on the way you intend to ride said pow in Japan.
Will you need to ride it switch in the pow at all?
If not, Then why not get something directional with a fun shape like a fish tail or really big nose. Just make sure it’s somewhat similar to what you’ve been riding so that you can ride it well.

It will mainly be natural with the odd switch landing here and there.
I guess a fish or something else could be an option

Thanks mate. Heard its a sweet board. Good all mountain/freeride and excels in POW.
It’s mainly the size issue. Is the 3 cm a bid difference?
for your weight get the 59 for sure. I weigh a little less than you and I ride a 63 for pow.
Anyways, like I said, with the rocker, the 59 will handle like a 56 so it’s a win-win
