Great concept on the group shot! Great use of the frame.
Well they are not the typical action shots but seeing as I didnt really get a chance to get out and shoot the action I will have to post these panos from the one sweet trip I made.
Great photos!!! Very very nice, the only way I can think to explain them is ‘still’!
The word DRIFT comes to mind.
Very nice indeed.
Photos of the Week have been posted to the snow homepage. Well done SnoPics and darb!
Just a reminder, we will be running the contest till the resorts close. All entries go into the final draw, not just the weekly winners.
Loved the HDR shots, Darren. But yeah, we’ll keep them out the contest.
f@tony, your photos are included in this current round ending this Sunday.

Love the group grom shot f@tony!!!!! Almost looks doctored!!!! You haven’t been foolin us with ya Photoshop skills again, have ya???
Half and half. 3 of the kids were really good and could do it on command, two of them are sponsored. The kid as the back was having really difficulty doing it with everyone so I had to grab the next frame in the sequence so he was actually doing the grab. Hence why he looks like he is almost about to fall. He was a real trooper though and kept trying.
Jay Walsh
When I first told the kids to tripod facing me, one of them did it towards me, two of them did it away from me and the fourth, seeing the majority were facing away from me, then did it away from me as well.
This is one from the many that I thought was quite fun.
f@tony, that shot of Jay Walsh is awesome!
not to be a dick, but how is grabbing riders out of other photos to make a ‘super’ shot any different to an HDR? They are both composites, but the HDR shot actually happened, while the other one is make believe
That is a good point but I’ve never bagged on HDR. Its just the same as sequence shots. Its temporal compression to make a better shot. I did it with my sunrise and sequence photo as well. Snowpark wanted more fun shots and of kids messing around for their website and so this is one of the concepts I had in my mind. I was originally going to crop the kid out but felt a bit mean. Plus I think that having 4 in the shot is better than three. Three creates too much of a focal point on the kid in the center while four spreads the focus more.
Just wanted to share it with you guys, if it does bother you I can take it down no biggie.
nah Tony, not bagging on your shot, I think it’s a great commercial shot. I was just saying that if you decide to exclude HDR shots from the contest then all composite shots should be out. But I doubt Rider was thinking at such a photonerd level when he said no HDR’s.
AWSTRUCK group pick f@tony! love it
The kid in the front of that shot isn’t even really bending his board…but his leg! crazy! wish i was that flexi!
This is my new concept rail…...
Now i haven’t finished my degree, but im pretty sure its a male. taken today at sandon pt
