Leds snowboard- What do you think ?

What do you think of these?

First and foremost stands the illumination of our boards. As early as in the first step of production, LEDs are integrated into the very core of the board. All further layers, which build up the board later on, are enveloping this core and therefore protect the LEDs from moisture and mechanical stress. One might say we don’t build the illumination into our snowboards, but rather the board around the lights. When switched off, you won’t notice any difference to other boards: nothing is sticking around or glued onto it. Our boards are designed and produced from first to last for this purpose.

The thing is, the LEDs don’t really look good unless it’s really dark. I don’t go night skiing that often, but when I do it’s always been well lit. In one of my more foolish moments I once ventured off the main run and away from the lights. I very quickly found out how much it sux to ride when you can’t see where you are going.

I’d much prefer the LED board kits that are available. At least I can easily bin the LEDs when I’ve seen the error of my ways, instead of being stuck with, as stated, a board built around fxxxing lights.

Stop beating around the bush AJ. Tell us what you really mean!

I would definitely have to test the board for performance before casting any opinion or judgement. Honest first thought: looks cool but definitely only serves as a novelty. Most important is always performance, reliability and functionality. That said, I wish you the best of luck and I’m sure there is a niche market you could appeal to. I can see a fit for promotional purposes, i.e., non-core-market video productions, resort performance nights (Thredbo flare run, Whistler fire and ice show etc.). Just my honest first opinions.

Welcome to Boardworld. smile

In short. i think its retarded and serves negative purpose (to me anyway) But I’m sure there are people out there that have fully sick neons on their fully sick civics that would love this shit. As AJ said, night boarding is always lit up so i dont see how these would even be that noticeable?!

That and i think the performance of the boards would be sub par to what i want in a board if it has leds sunk into it. Surely thats going to affect things like flex, lateral flex etc.?

Good luck to you though.

Mind you have been looking into the new Nike led boots (but that is not because of the LED’s in them.)
