In 2009 while in Hakuba I had a beer from a brewery in the States called Stone. It was (& still to this day) one of the best beers I’ve ever had. When I got back to Aust. I tried to find Stone in Australia only to be told by one of the specialty beer importers that Stone don’t like to export their beer as they have rather high standards about temperature and the likes.
Tonight while waiting for a tram home I walked into a specialty beer & wine bottle shop in the area to find that they currently have Stone IPA in stock. After speaking with the guy working there it turns out that they got some friends in the States to ship them a crate of it.
I’ve been waiting almost 4 years to drink their beers again.

How was the IPA?
I find IPA’s to be disgustingly bitter. I bought a case of IPA by mistake once ($60) had one sip and never touched the case again

My friend who has the brewery loves them though! Tobi you whould keep an eye out for Wayward Brewery. I am heading to their on Saturday I will ask if they have any Melbourne stockest!

H0z thanks! Go back a page - i won tickets for a harbour party. only two though. I had plans and so asking someone from those plans (who to choose and who wants to ditch our group of friends… etc etc)
But its all sorted! Should be a fun night. I hate the harbour on NYE tend to only go once every 10 years or so, so i am due for it I suppose!
Will be fun I think - being in a roped off area and knowing we have a ‘seat’ etc and not having to sit out there ALL DAY… ‘doors’ don’t open to 8pm actually.
For those watching the telecast from home I will be at the Dawes Point party, next to the Park Hyatt under the harbour bridge.
Going to have an early dinner at home with my friend then jump on a bus into town.

Haven’t had it yet, I grabbed a mix 6 pack while there so I had to Kooinda Pale the other night.
I don’t mind the odd IPA but at this time of year am much more of a APA, PA or Kolsch drinker.
