Got engaged last Wednesday, needless to say I’m pretty stoked the last week has been full of drinking, eating and celebrating which has also been pretty enjoyable!
Bought the boyfriend (now fiance) a Tag Heuer as an engagement present (since I got such a beautiful ring and thought it was only fair) so he is pretty stoked at the moment as well
conggraattzz!!

Congrats, air180!!!!!
Thanks guys
Got a msg from a mate at like midnight last night informing me to check my mines induction pack for a form from Auscoal about super etc.
Turns out when i started my job underground they signed me up to Auscoal super as i couldnt recall my Cbus details. The Auscoal super comes with income protection up to a value of 60 odd grand over 2 years. Words cant describe the relief i am feeling now. Funds were getting too low for my liking
Awesome Deano!
I was starting to stress heaps, this makes me feel heaaaaaaaaaaaaps better.
Party at Deano’s!!!!!
in a month (60 day waiting period for it to kick in,,,pricks)
Haha at least it is 60 days from injury!
Could have been 60 days from first phone call!
That’s good to hear!! Its always nice to know you’ll have money to survive!
Now the decision is should i be silly and use my back pay to book Japow with a weak ankle for late feb….
You,could take up 1 legged,snowboarding? Haha
if you think your ankle can handle it, and strapping it will be enough, (and having good boots helps) then I say, why not? You only live once, may as well make the most of it!!
but if you think it could make it worse, and put you out for longer.. Then is it worth the risk?
I snowboarded 13 days straight in August, with a pretty bad knee.. Went back every 2nd weekend after that. by the last 4 day trip in Sept I had to sit the last day out after 3 runs cos I was in alot of pain.. My knee is ok now., but after doing tramp classes on Wednesday.. (I’ve been missing every 2-3 weeks from my knee) its been sore.., but honestly, would I do that again knowing the out come?? Um hell yes!! Cos I had so much fun with everyone at the snow and learnt so much in one season.. That I wouldn’t change it!!
(no,one knows your body like you do.. So if you feel up to it, then do it)
< /rant>
Haha i was contemplating it the other night after a few beers but decided against it. Dont want to risk having a ruined ankle for the rest of my life for a week or 2 of powder. I dont want to be one of those old guys hobbling around when im 50 odd due to not looking after my body when i was young.
good boy Deano!
Look after it now and it wont bother you for years to come!
a couple of weeks in Japow this season will not be worth it if you are miserable every time you ride there after!
