How are you liking your Juice Wagon? Spenser from the other forum said his Slash ATV floats better than the JW, do you agree with that?

Hey have you had time to ride the Team TTX yet?  I’m thinking about buying a Superpark TTX but I haven’t been able to find any firsthand review of the new camber.

Hey, good to hear from you. I’ve only had two runs on my team and the only thing I can say so far is the factory wax sucks.
This year I also got a superpark ctx in the same size and I’ll put up a side by side review as soon as I get some decent time on both.
Where are you located?
Btw, I chose the team over the sp ttx because of the price. The team is the same board, just a hair softer than the sp.
If you don’t get the ttx, would you get camber or ctx?

Hey Skip, hang on for another day or so. I’ll do a first impressions review for you in the blog post for last weekend

Thanks Marc!

Good to know on the factory wax.
I’ve rode camber (same board) almost exclusively since I started boarding 4 years ago, I love the feel through carves, the spring on edge-edge transitions, stability.  I tried a Burton Process V rocker once and hated how squirly it felt under my feet so I’m definitely on the camber side.  I’m considering the TTX because it seems like a camber dominant hybrid design (best of both worlds?).  Other than that I’m thinking Jones Mountain Twin which I’ve only heard good things about.  It’s tough making the jump though because it’s a big investment.  There’s a company out of Canada, Zion, that accepts returns on lightly ridden boards and they have a camber design (Zany Earth, Ryan Paul promodel) that seems similar to TTX so I might give that a go once I hear back from them for a picture of the actual profile of the board.  I’m in the US on the Ice Coast.  Boarding isn’t my main thing I’m actually a climber but I stress fractured my finger so I’m off for the winter season and want to put more boarding days in and see if I can get better and work on jumps and such, no jibs tho.  I don’t want a quiver of boards, just one that sits in the all-mountain/freestyle capable category.

Oh and can’t wait to hear about the Slash ATV, that board is on my radar too.

Thanks for getting back to me.

Welcome to Boardworld, jlittle. cool smile

I’m really keen to demo a Jones Mountain Twin as well. I think it would be such an awesome all-mountain board. Also, check out the YES range. Most of their boards are CamRock (same as the Jones Mtn Twin).

Hey J,

I’ve ridden Burton’s flying v rocker and I’m not a big fan either. The team ttx didn’t feel rockery at all, more like a playful camber.
The good thing about Smokin boards in your case is the magne traction tech on the edges. They will definitely give you a better grip in icy conditions. I think camrock will be better in pow but will have less grip than ttx.
If you just look at media, Smokin has an image of a bud-smokin, rail & park slaying crew, but their boards are really good all over the mountain. Lots of pop and a really good warranty, especially the bummer replacement clause. Check that out for sure.
I emailed Smokin about ttx and this is what they said:

The TTX that we run here at Smokin is similar to the Lib C3. It is the same concept, however we made the rocker length in between the bindings shorter than that of Lib’s C3. Thus far everyone on our team is super stoked on the TTX. Jay our owner swears by the TTX saying that it is the best shape he has ever ridden. With that in mind we believe that the shorter rocker allows more camber area and with that comes better edge hold when you need it. The rocker is still deep enough to allow you to float through powder better than other camber dominant boards.

The Slash ATV is getting some positive reviews. My friend got one so I might be able to try it at some point this winter…but you’ll have made your decision by then I think. At this point, all I’ve heard is that it’s stiff, maybe a medium stiff, and everyone likes it.

Cool guys.  Thanks for the responses.  Sorry for jacking your thread for a little bit.  I actually just got in touch with a guy in my area with a Superpark ttx 159 on the way so imma see if I can try it out when it comes in.  Great help.  And I’m going to keep up on this thread too, keep having fun!
