Maybe?????

Just would add to the “stiffness” I reckon!!!!!

I would have like the 156 but there was a fair bit of overhang with my boots so to err on the side of caution i went with the 157w. Would prefer to deal with the wider board than clip my toes/heels…

What? size 10 boots and you went a wide?
I have never seen a normal width board too small for size 10 boots?

I have size 10 boots and i rode a mates 158w board for a few runs once and it felt like a boat. Hopefully yours works out for you LOL

Which boots do you have? Some brands/models just have a bigger footprint and bulkier shell.

I would have thought you would be OK with the 156 (249mm waist) though. Were the bindings mounted with your proper stance and angles when you tested it?

I read somewhere that you should stand on the board in bare feet with your feet at the angles and mounting positions you will be riding.  Your toes and heels should come right to the edge of the board.  If they don’t, the board is too wide.  Maybe others can validate this approach.

I’ve never heard that one before!!!!!

But I can see that it would be pretty accurate!!!!!

Yeah I guess the idea is that if your feet aren’t touching the edges, you can’t put enough pressure on the edge to turn properly.  There would be a bit of give and take as you would be able to exert a bit of leverage through your boots, but unless your boots are really stiff it would be less force and therefore less response.

I’ve never heard of that one either. Not saying it doesn’t work, just never heard of it myself. The way I like to test is by strapping the boots into the bindings in the position they will be ridden. Simply tip the board over on a flat surface and see how much edge angle is needed before the toes/heels hit the surface. It’s a simple test but an easy way to visually demonstrate how much clearance you will have. It’s usually a lot more than you think!

Tried the barefoot thing on one of my boards - my feet seem to line up perfectly with the edges.

This is the Best Way to do it!!!!!
