I’m planning on upgrading my protective gear for this season mines been through its share oh falls and I’m checking out the latest tech when it comes to armor and one that stood out was G-Form they have this RPT material that is soft but hardens up on impact.
Just wondering what you guys think of it and if it would work for snowboarding. If not other suggestions you guys might have would be greatly appreciated.
I think I want to see the back of those impact shorts first. I have torn my impact shorts apart so was looking at some new R.E.D. pants with the same impact absorption… stuff.
They are great except for one thing. THEY PUT A SOFT PAD ON THE TAIL BONE AREA INSTEAD OF AN ARMOUR PLATE. WTF!!!
The tail bone is the thing we need MOST! I would say they made it for skiers… but it’s not, it’s a snowboard brand. They just suck at design.
Please check you have armour plates on the tail of those things. They are the most important part. I’m sure u know what I’m talking about with tail bone hits
Yeah good question I’ll look into it, yeah I have hard plating protecting my tail bone. It says it has a protector for the back but not sure. I did fine out this engages with IMPACT only which worries me a Lil because what about a hard toe side carve or fast stop there really no impact it’s slow contact with the ground then it’s a slide if anything. If it engages on impact that would not engage it I don’t think.
Gotta figure this out
There you go
I rekon you would want a fair bit more tail protection than that!
It needs to curve under a lot more. Cos face it when you crash your hips are usually bent so that bit will be on your back/ass not tail bone
I have the RED impact shorts too, and they could do with more too. But look to be a bit better
