Just found my email from Staff Accommodation in my spam mailbox… been sitting there for 6 days. Argh. Hope it’s all good since I got an email today from my boss saying he thinks it’s probably full :(

Quick survey - how did/do you (personally) travel from downtown Vancouver to Whistler.
As there are several bus companies with varying prices and pick-up points, I’m trying to choose one.
So any comments on the good or bad?
Greyhound bus. get a taxi from to the bus station/ Grand central station. I think it was $28 for the one way trip. The bus has power , usb charging points and free WIFI. Sit behind the driver on the way up for the views. Its the only way to do it!

Have you made a “What not to do at Vancouver Grand Central Station” thread Nick?
In the past ie always used pacific coach to get from Vancouver to whistler, nicer bus and it’s a quicker trip up with less stops than the greyhound.
Theres also a facebook group people can join for Whistler winter 13/14. People post up there when they are driving Van to Whis all the time and you can hitch a ride and throw in for fuel.
Yep, I’m taking a 6 month script for my meds over to Canada this season. Seems like the best way to do it.

Yeah Sun Peaks has the same to Kamloops. I’m going to try and hitch a lift to the mountain rather than pay the $100 bus fare if I can.

Finally in Vancouver! Went for a bit of walk to check out some sales and to be honest wasn’t too impressed considering with tax added to the discounted price most boards are only about $5-10 cheaper than rrp. But on the positive Vancouver is one of the nicest cities I’ve ever been to. Tomorrow is setup bank account and get SIN number and all that other stuff.. I’m here until Tuesday before heading up to Whistler if anyone wants to meet up for a beer let me know
