no idea really but have seen pics/footage of Port Mac Breakwall with that colour of water and I know it is also a right and has some nice barrels!

My guess would be fresh for sure! Dont really get that much gradient in ocean rivers.

even so, look at the surroundings. It loos to me like it is a river flowing down stream, not an mouth flowing upstream.

And that is a fair river bed/shelf drop across the whole river there causing the wave/rapid
