Check out this short vid, a guy used his Canon 7D shooting at 60fps. Edited it using some new software and slowed it down to mimic the phantom cameras 1000fps. Great to know you dont have to be a millionare to get good quality ultra slow mo.

Got to the link above to read about software and watch video…Vimeo link doesnt seem to be working for me
Awesome, watched it 3 times!
Great stuff. Impressive Cameras.
definetly a really interesting video, great use of a post production plug in.
some things to consider about this video and the prospect of instantly dispelling the functionality of a ‘millionaire’ 1000fps true camera, like the phantom, high end redone products etc…
a. this plug-in - twixtor, will artifact 90% of the time with anything but a static background. Notice how all of the shots he uses in this video are of similar colour tones and the majority of a grey background? As philip bloom says “its all in the grey sky…”.
b. phantom cameras shoot literally 1000 images per second. the versatility and sheer depth you get with this footage is in no way ever going to be matched by a post production plug in simply ‘filling in the blanks’
c. due to the inability of twixtor shots to cover virtually any angle like the phantom process can, and the fact that artifacts always occur, phantoms still have a use
... but they cost 2500/day.
g/l w/ twixtor!
ha
Sick edit - super smoothe.
I was at a surf shoot few weeks ago for a movie coming out early next year and we were using a 1000fps Phantom, those cams are pretty insane. Out here (Oz) they’re more like 3,500 per day as a base rate, but the rate reduces if you get the camera for a period of time. Add lenses to that too
for those using helmet cams with a 60fps setting, we have a link on our site to help you get the most from converting the framerate into quality slow-mo footage.
Have a click on this link and read through if you want:

that. was. amazing.
but in short, shredlife u cleared up my theories about the 1000fps cameras being obsolete haha
and Sportscamera, ill get round to usin that link one day in my hols after uni exams
