Who did you end up going with for a phone and what sort of deals/costs were available?
Any issues setting up the Bank and SIN or did you just rock up on the day?
Just had a quick look and Telus Share Plus plans look like the best options.

@steve - I went with FIDO, seemed to most like my current plan in australia (and when i say plan i mean prepaid) 30 bucks for like unlimited call and text. the only thing is no data but i can always change.
Note: they need an address for some reason, even if they are not sending a paper copy of the invoice, so just tell them which lodge in whistler you;re staying at and you can change it later, I used fireside ( the wont accept samesun because they have been screwed over before)
as for the SIN and bank, get the sin first make an appointment, same day or next doesnt matter but try and do everything else first so you have a phone and SIN etc for the banker. As for an address for the bank, just tell hem to send it to the post office in whistler ( there is only 1) the exact address is on your piece of paper in which you got the SIN, so take that along.
SIN is done from Service Canada which is located in the Sinclair building about 10 blocks north from the samesun.

I went to RBC today, the woman i had setting up my account was the best i’ve ever had in australia or canada, its such a shame that the man i had book my appointment was a total pompous azzhole, legit was talkin’ shit on me when i didnt have my visa with me when i was booking the appointment, I was like u wot mi8.

Dunno whether you’ve bought stuff already but it was the Boardroom clearance centre on West 4th across Granville bridge. 2 wonderful guys that helped me out Cheyenne and Lee who was the assistant manager.
Been busy as spent a good 2hrs chatting to the people @ workbc centre in function junction. (Tj you helped here so ta, they helped me get it done the Whistler way) Reccomended you visit if you haven’t been successful with the mountain.

Hey mate I went to BW clearance yesterday and got some awesome deals, a jacket that was 450 down to 230 by goretex.

Argh, that sucks. Fix it up right away and see if you can contact any places you applied for to get it fixed (unless you already have an interview with them.)

Has anyone had any experience with freight forwarding or shipping canada to australia or australia to canada?
I cant for the life of me remember who i used to ship my winter stuff home last time. I’m now obviously looking at sending maybe like 5 boxes of stuff to canada. i found a few companies- air is obviously heaps expensive. i’m not in a rush so by sea could work. Anyways just thought i’d check and see.

Got a job with whistler mountain working in a restaurant as a bistro worker (out the front yeww)
I managed to pull a job as a day cleaner after just rocking up for the interview (thanks nick for the tip) so very happy full time job
