I had a 3.5 hour surf yesterday and a 2.5 hour surf today, both days pumping, yesterday was much bigger though!

Too big for my local reef on Wednesday, too windy yest on the early but it cleaned up so darn nicely for the mid day session.
Where did you surf? many out?

This morning I was in the water at 5.15 am thinking there might be the odd bigger set still sneaking through. It was fun but much much smaller damm it.

Surfed from 1 till 4:30 on Wednesday, just me and two mates out till a little after 3 and then a few more paddled out.  At dead low guys were trying to paddle out but coudln’t make it, was hilarious, I just ran around the back of the point and jumped off hair dry.  Copped a couple of rogue 6ft clean ups on the head but got a bucket full of good waves.

Yesterday looked a little busier with about 8 guys out but they were all mid teens kids so I got what I wanted ha ha!

Stoked I DIDN"T burn the house down last night.
Still, there’s plenty of smoke damage and a fine coating of oil over everything.
Lucky my parents came home an hour early. I’ve never seen so much smoke without flames.

What did you do?

He cooked chips and left the oil on the heat (which he thought he turned off)

Yeah, then left the house to eat in my granny flat.
20min later parents came home, I emerged to mum asking what all the smoke bellowing out the front door was. Couldn’t see above waist level for the smoke! Through the whole 8 bedroom house!!
Smoke took 3hrs to clear with every window/door open.

While cleaning today it was even more evident how lucky we are.
The pot burnt the oil dry. The only room with a smoke alarm that worked (with charged batteries) was in the only room with the door closed.
I use peanut oil - one of the highest flashpoints for cooking oil.

But hows this. Cleaning some boxes from my grannyflat yesterday found a box that had smoulder burns (i don’t know how) it would have happened while I was in the snow. Again luck on side - it was dense cardboard and didn’t fully ignite.
