I’m going to list Australia Post and the reason is because of the bs their couriers pull where they will leave a ‘missed delivery’/‘sorry we missed you’ ticket at your door when they have never actually attempted to deliver the package.  I have, on several occasions, been at home and awake all day awaiting delivery only to go to the door and find one of these tickets propped up outside.  And don’t call them because they will lie through their teeth and state that it was out for delivery and then inform you that you have to wait until tomorrow or come pick it up.

They won’t even put the time on those slips these days!
It does vary from courier to courier - the one that delivers to ours toot’s the horn.

Here’s spaz’s tip - make it look like a business delivery.
ie: Have it delivered to “Viczerez PTY LTD”

Just depends on your who your parcel courier is. I did some extra work for Aus Post over christmas/new year a few years ago delivering parcels and I always went and knocked. I hated filling out those damn ‘sorry we missed you’ notes.

Yeah I heard that they aren’t required to knock (crock of shit if you ask me!)

I would be with you Cords and not wanna do the extra “work”

I got one last week when I wasn’t home.
Nothing written on the form, IT WAS FILLED IN WITH A STAMP! a squiggle of a signature and a sticker.
But they would’ve had to do something with the electronic thingy.
So I agree that it depends.

yep oz & spaz, you have to do some weird stuff with your barcode scanner machine thingy and then fill out the card. I am way too nerdy and professional to not fill out every detail of the form if I can…so it was much quicker for me to just run out of the car with the parcel and see if I could get rid of it by them answering the door or me leaving it somewhere where it wouldn’t get rained on (like the letterbox if possible but so many people have stupid, tiny letterboxes!)

At the beginning of the day your van is so full of parcels that it feels really satisfying to see it gradually disappear (for me anyway). The guys who card everyone must just load up their local post office with pretty much everything they picked up from the depot in the morning…stupid! So dumb to go around delivering cards instead of the parcels you have in your van!

Some people!

It would be a great job. I mean who isn’t stoked to receive a parcel?

Fair enough, like with all things it’s ‘luck of the draw.’  Thankfully it didn’t happen with my last order and I was stoked to have something waiting for me when I got home from my shite place of employment.

It doesn’t help the Australian attitude of “she’ll be right” it makes us lazy. Service with in some companies is shit house and the quality of the service suffers. I can’t believe you still can’t track your Australia post parcel properly. Purchase date should be in the system straight away and to your door trackable all the way.
